Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 24-09-2007

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  An index of previous weekly Missionary Prayer Requests is given at the foot of the page.

RWANDA

Chrissie Mulindabigwi requests prayer for Gisenyi, an area north of Rwanda, which has suffered severe flooding. Many people have lost their homes and belongings, including 20 believers. Chrissie and a team are due to visit the area for two days to assess the situation. Please pray for wisdom and sensitivity.

ZAMBIA

Short-term worker Helen Hindson was involved in a vehicle accident on 18th September. She was transferred to Lusaka for further treatment and then transferred on to Johannesburg where she is in intensive care. It is hoped that she will have an operation to stabilise a pelvic fracture and she has other internal injuries that require specialist management. Her mother has flown out to Johannesburg to be with her. Two other people in the vehicle were also injured. Please pray for a good recovery for all concerned. Pray, too, that the Kalene Hospital staff will be helped to carry out Helen’s heavy workload in her absence.

INDIA

Ian and Anita Elliott retruned to India on 25th September after a furlough in the UK. Shortly after their arrival, they will be travelling to Hebron School, in Ootacamund, to visit their children

AMERICAS

Charles & Gloria Morris are in Paraguay (D.V.) from Sept 26th to Oct 3rd, speaking at some Assemblies and meeting the elders. They would greatly value our prayers.

EASTERN EUROPE

Martin Baker is in the Czech Republic this week and would value prayer as he ministers in different assemblies. He returns to the UK on 28th.

LOCAL

Tom Turton is responsible for the preaching of the Gospel next Sunday,30th September. Please uphold in prayer.
