ZAMBIA
Rod Boatman
has been asked to lead an elders’ meeting on
30th September, on the subject of
the Holy Spirit. Please
pray for a precious time of
fellowship in God’s Word.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell ask us to pray for their
Black Gospel Choir.
They will be giving a concert in a large shopping mall on
1st October, and a short message
will also be given. Ken and
Christine believe the Lord was
speaking to many of the choir members during the recent gospel workshop,
so please continue to pray that
they will be saved.
THAILAND
Peggy Ferry
has been discharged from hospital following her surgery and is feeling
well. Each day she does some walking and climbs a flight of stairs, and
the surgeon thinks she should be able to walk normally without a stick
in a month’s time. She will see him again on
27th of this month, and she and
Peter hope to be able to return
to Phuket shortly after that.
BRAZIL
Jim
and Carmen Jardine advise that there is a general election in the
country on October 1st, and
candidates are eager to take office for everything from President to
members of State parliaments. These elections are important because in
the past 30 years there has never been so much corruption uncovered.
Voting is compulsory for those eligible. Please
pray for the believers during
this time, and that the Lord’s will may be manifest.
MEXICO
Pam Jewitt
reports that she has now had her suture removed and things are going
well. She is feeling the benefit of the operation, even though she still
has limited movement. However, it will be a couple of weeks before she
is allowed to live on her own, depending on the results of her next
x-ray. Please continue to pray
for her healing.
NORTHERN IRELAND
Gary Woods (Isle of Man) commences a
series of Gospel Meetings on October 1st in Lisbellaw, Co.
Fermanagh with Tom Meekin. There are only four Assemblies in
the whole of Co. Fermanagh and three of these are very small. Gary
would value prayer for the preaching of the Gospel.
LOCAL
A Men’s Meeting
is scheduled for this Friday at
7:30 pm. A review of Gospel work,
arrangements for Christmas
and the opening of the new Hall at
Edenhall Grove are high on the Agenda. We’re conscious also that
we have not been distributing funds to overseas missionaries as much as
we would like, and if you know of any special needs, please make the
brethren aware of them.
The monthly visit to
Wheatacres is planned for this
coming Sunday.
John Wallace
(Hartlepool) is planned to be with us for the
Gospel Service next Sunday
evening.
