Those who meet regularly at the Hall are
pleased to be known simply as “Christians”. We gladly
recognise all who own Jesus Christ to be their
Saviour and Lord as being fellow members of His one universal
Church. We are from different backgrounds, but have at least one thing in
common, namely that we have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as our own
personal Saviour. Basically we are just ordinary folk who regularly get together
in a friendly atmosphere to worship God, to preach the Good News
of salvation from sin through faith in Jesus Christ, and to learn more of God's
answers to the problems of life in the 21st century.
We are small in number - about
24
believers in 2010 - split about equally between men and women. Apart from the
small number, we are also an ageing group, but a joyful one.
Throughout the 90+ years of existence, the
objectives of the Fellowship have
been:
-
To worship God and to remember His
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, in the breaking of bread and taking of the cup.
-
To preach the Gospel of salvation
from sin through faith in the work of Christ upon the Cross.
-
To have fellowship with other
Christians and encourage them in their faith.
-
To have meetings connected with young
people so that at a tender age the love of God through Christ might be
known, and become a major influence on their lives.
We believe the Bible is the inspired
Word of God and we try to follow it alone.
The teachings of God's Word are neither ancient nor
modern—they are both timeless and timely, and sufficient for men and women of
God to be "thoroughly furnished to every good work."
We pray that
others may know the peace and joy of heart that only Christ can give. To this
end, we welcome those who are not sure of God’s forgiveness and personal
salvation, praying that such might find an understanding of their basic needs
and the Lord's provision for them in Christ.
We look forward to meeting
you. Please come and visit us as you are able.
