ZAMBIA
Ray
and Ruth Williams (Chavuma) mention several items for
prayer regarding the
assembly and
hospital
work. Between Christmas and New Year, there will be a
week of prayer and
waiting on the Lord for blessing on His work. Please
pray for a
revitalisation of the assembly in the future.
Pray, too, that the
assembly will be moved to reach out into the surrounding
villages. In the hospital, quite a few of the senior staff
have left, so pray
for those who remain, that they will cope well with the
heavy workload, and for help as they witness to the
patients.
BAHAMAS
It gives
Mark Lacey great joy
and pleasure to report the wonderful news
that
this past weekend they finally moved
The
Haven ministry onto the new site! In spite of much
opposition and government red tape they now have all the
various permits to allow them to use the building. From
beginning to end they paid no bribes to any one and they
give glory to the Lord for all His enabling help in removing
the many obstacles that Satan sought to stumble them with.
Please join them in
praise and
thanksgiving to our
Lord and Saviour for all the help, finance and fortitude
given to realise this vision and burden given to them 6 1/2
years ago.
Satan has been busy throughout in
various ways to discourage and bring to a halt this venture
of the Lord's, but they are thanking Him for the victory and
testimony this is to the fervent
prayers of His
people.
BRAZIL
Jeff and Denise Watson (Foz do Iguacu) request
prayer for a
Christmas play being held by the
young
people, using hand puppets. They are practicing each
afternoon this week, in time for the performance on
the evening of 25th.
Pray that many will attend, and that as the gospel is
proclaimed, hearts will be touched and people saved.
Pray, too, for a
response to the gospel tract distribution last week and
this, that God’s Word will have an impact on those who read
it.
Chrissie McSorley (Sacramento) requests
prayer for the annual
meeting at the creche for children and their parents, to be
held on 21st December.
The hall will be filled with non-Christians, so
please pray that the
true message of Christmas will speak to the hearts of those
who attend.
MEXICO
Eglon and Judith Harris report that the Christmas
activities held on two recent Sunday evenings, organised by
the young people, saw good numbers attending.
Eglon is busy with
the choir on 23rd and
a different programme is arranged for
31st. Please
pray for help and
that the gospel message will touch the hearts of those who
go along to listen.
LEBANON
Don
and Nicola Alexander ask us to pray for the Christmas
presentation being held at the Lebanese Evangelical School,
Ain
Zahalta, for the students’ families on the morning of
21st. There will be a nativity play and an evangelistic talk
as part of this event, so
pray that the Lord will speak through the Christmas
message.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Pavel & Danka Vopalecky will be taking part in their
fourth Open Air Christmas
Service. It will be held at 10:00 pm on the
24th December. In
previous years between 1500 and 2200 people attended. 26,000
invitation cards have been mailed and some given out
personally. Please remember in
prayer.
LOCAL
The informal
Carol Service will be
held this coming Sunday
at 4:30 pm. The timing could be a help to elderly people in
the neighbourhood who don’t normally go out after tea in
winter. Please remember
Andrew Lumsden in
prayer that this occasion may be a time when the Lord
speaks to individuals. |
