Eric
McCaughren requests
prayer for a two-hour
teaching session regarding Biblical Elders being held on
31st March. This has
been requested by the elders of the six English-speaking
assemblies in
Kitwe,
all mature, experienced, well educated and capable men.
Pray for grace,
wisdom and courage to expound biblical teaching, sometimes
obscured by ‘the traditions of men’.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell report that almost 600 people attended their gospel concert
on
24th
March. They felt the
Lord’s presence throughout the evening, and many people took
away a copy of the gospel book
Power for Living. On
the following day, the ladies’ singing group performed at a
large shopping centre in the town. Further copies of
Power for Living were
distributed to those listening, and some good conversations
took place. Please
pray
for fruit from these outreaches.
MALAYSIA
Eric
Kirton was called
Home to be with the Lord on
24th
March. Please
remember his family and friends in your prayers at this
time.
CANADA
Peter Smith asks this week for supporting prayer
for another opportunity to share the Gospel and promote
Postal Bible studies through a booth at the 100th Royal
Manitoba Winter Fair sponsored by the assembly at
Manitoba. Please
pray
much
this week that the Lord would bless this outreach, and that
there will be many profitable conversations.
FRANCE
Retired missionaries
Peter and Jeane Wheeler
advise that their exhibition
on the
Separation of Church
and
State and the 1905
French Law is to be held at a village near
Arras
this weekend. Please
pray
for this event, which
was requested by the mayor of the village, a Catholic
Charismatic. He is sending out invitations to surrounding
villages and mayors.
Friday
30th is reserved for
schoolchildren, and on
31st
Peter will be giving
a guided visit and lecture.
Pray
for much interest and for the Lord to speak to those who
attend.
REPUBLIC
OF IRELAND
Continue to
pray
for
Noel and
Liza McMeekin and the
Postal Bible School prize givings.
ITALY
Robert
and Muriel Hamilton
are planning an outreach evening on
Saturday
31st, with the title
Music and Art. They
hope to use the work of Christian artist
Carlo De
Gregorio and the
music of fellow-missionary Regin Guttesen, among others, to
present the gospel in a fresh and relevant way. Please
pray for this event.
SPAIN
Ken
and Alison Barrett
are expecting a GLO team to join them on
30th
March, for a week of
gospel outreach. The City Council have refused them
permission to do any open-air preaching in the city centre,
as the officially approved Easter processions will be taking
place there. However, many outreach activities are planned
away from the centre, and it is hoped that the team will
still be able to give out tracts on the main streets.
