TANZANIA
Ron
and Maria Cunningham wish to thank all those who
prayed for the
visits
to various businesses in
Moshi town, which was included in the 11th December
prayer requests. During the past three weeks, 2,400 Gospels,
2,560 calendars and 2,000 Christmas tracts have been
distributed, and all very well received. Please
pray that the good
seed sown will bring forth fruit in due course.
MALAYSIA
Please continue to
pray for
Eric Kirton who
is currently in hospital receiving treatment for a
malignant melanoma. Pray
for the Lord’s help for him, and for family members in the
homeland as well as those who are with him and caring for
him.
PAKISTAN
Retired missionaries
Sylvia Tarring and
Ann Hughes leave for
Pakistan on 11th January
at 5 pm. They will spend two weeks in Multan, then
move on to Faisalabad for two weeks, followed by a visit up
north to the earthquake zone at Kunhar Hospital, then on to
Islamabad to see Eunice
Jones and the Lannon
family. They plan to return on 16th February. Please
pray for every aspect
of this visit.
OTHER OVERSEAS SERVICE
Please
pray for
Benji Daniel, who leaves for
Fiji on
16th January. There
was a bloodless coup in Fiji recently – the third within a
decade – so please pray
for peace and safety.
Benji is looking forward to being with the new
assemblies and other contacts he has made on previous
visits. The door seems to be open amongst Indian Fijians,
who form 44% of the population. Because of wounded
relationships with the Christian native Fijians, they are
not keen to receive the gospel through them. However,
Indians are open to hearing it from their own people, giving
Benji a unique
opportunity amongst this group.
Charles and Gloria Morris request
prayer for their
first visit to the Dominican
Republic to minister at the annual conference, the
elders’ retreat and other meetings. This trip takes place
during the last two weeks of January.
LOCAL
The
Gospel Service this coming week is planned to be
taken by Tony Harvey
of Whitley Bay. Please pray
for Tony and those
who attend. It is likely to be the last Gospel Service in
Larkswod Community Centre before moving to the new Hall at
Edenhall Grove, Redcar—it would be good if it was marked
by professions of faith.
