JAPAN
Christine Cowell (Kushiro) had surgery on 20th
February, and would value
prayer for a successful operation and a full and
speedy recovery.
Ken
and Christine also request
prayer for their
monthly English service on
February 25th and for
Yoriko, a Japanese student living in France who has
shown interest in the gospel but still has some resistance
to trusting the Lord. At the moment she is quite depressed
and even talks of wanting to die. Do
pray that the Lord
will work in her heart at this critical time.
FRANCE
Geoff and Annette Cawston (Angers) advise that a
Chinese student is to be baptised this month. She comes from
a Korean-speaking family and had been introduced to a group
of Korean Christian students. The gospel message was totally
new to her, but she gradually came to faith.
Praise the Lord for
this.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Continue to
pray for
Noel and Liza McMeekin,
as they carry on with the annual
Postal
Bible School prize givings. Please
pray that these
meetings will be used by the Lord to reach many, as most of
the folk attending have no other contact with the gospel.
This week, prize givings will be held on
20th February Monaghan,
and 22nd Cootehill.
Pray for safety as
Noel and Liza travel many miles during these weeks.
ITALY
Short-term workers
Giovanni and Hannah Donato
advise that on 27th February
they are showing the film
Luther,
which will be followed by discussion on the differences
between Catholicism, Protestantism and Evangelicalism.
Pray that God would
use this event to educate people about what the Bible says.
They also ask us to pray
for those with whom they meet on a regular basis for
Bible study, especially
Alessandro who was recently saved. He loves the world
and has much to give up.
Pray that God will keep him and that this step of
faith would prove to be a reality in his life.
SPAIN
From
23rd to 26th February,
Ken and Alison Barrett are visiting
Vigo, in western
Spain, where they will be attending the annual assembly of
the
Spanish Evangelical Alliance, as well as a ministry
meeting at the Fragosa
Street church. Please
pray for safe travel and blessing on the preaching
and fellowship.
