ZAMBIA
Paul and
Angela Hannay report that there have been riots on the border
between Zambia and Tanzania. Several lorries and vehicles held in
the customs clearing bay were burnt or looted, and these included a
container from
Medical Missionary News, believed to have been carrying
electrical goods for Chengelo School.
Please pray that future
containers will arrive safely at their destination.
Eric
McCaughren is going to Johannesburg
this week for tests and
possible eye surgery. Our prayers
would be appreciated.
INDIA
Prayer
is requested for Benji Daniel,
who has gone with a team of six people to some difficult mountainous
areas this week for outreach.
Pray that they will not
encounter harassment from extremists, or flash floods from the
weather.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell ask for
prayer over the weekend of the
17th and 18th September, when
they will have a Gospel Workshop for their choir.
Ken will preach three
messages during this time. There are more than 30 choir members who
are not believers, but their hearts are open to the gospel, so
pray that God will bring them
to repentance and faith in Christ.
SRI LANKA
Rajeev
Nicholas has sent a report on the severe outbreak of war in
this country and he asks us to pray
for believers. Many have had to leave their homes and are being
cared for by believers in other areas.
THAILAND
Peggy Ferry
has recently undergone some medical examinations in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia, and the neurosurgeon there has suggested further surgery,
to take place on Thurs 14th Sept.
AMERICA
Charles
Morris main priority is preparation at the
Muller Bible Institute in New York
of a 3-year course for 50 students from 10 Spanish speaking
Assemblies in New York, which starts on
Sept. 16th. He is responsible
for supplying notes for the students for 140 lessons covering 8
subjects with notes for the instructors.
BOLIVIA
Please remember
Walter Alexander in your
prayers as he prepares and
speaks at a youth congress being held in
Muriae from
15th-17th September.
Walter also mentions his
recent surgery and implant to both eyes. There have been
complications which makes reading and writing most difficult. Please
pray for the Lord’s help for
Walter, especially as he has
several engagements over the next couple of months.
JAMAICA
Prayer
is requested for the Midland
Bible Institute in May Pen,
as this Thursday, 14th Sept.,
they will be visited by a team from the University Council of
Jamaica. This is a first step towards the college being accredited
by the university, so please pray
that a good impression will be made.
FRANCE
Ian
Newberry asks us to pray
for a seminar which he will be taking in
Glasgow on
Saturday 16th, on “How
to revive the Prayer Meeting”.
Pray that God’s people would
be encouraged and that the Holy Spirit would challenge people to
pray.
NORWAY
Nat and
Jennifer Rodgers from the
13th-22nd September, will be travelling to the
Ukraine with believers from
the west of Norway. Nat is
responsible for the morning and evening Bible talks. Please
pray that he will be helped
with this and that believers will be encouraged and built up in
their faith during this time.
FINALLY
