Allan and
Jacqui McKinnon request
prayer for the official opening of
Berea Bible
College on
Saturday,
26th August, when the ex-President’s wife will be attending
as a special guest. A lot of the final preparations are still being
done this week. Pray that the
occasion will bring glory to the Lord. The college term begins on
Tuesday, 29th August, and
they expect about 18 students from across the country to attend for
the next three months. Please pray
for health and strength for those involved in the teaching
and administration, particularly
Allan, who is recovering from a bad bout of pneumonia.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell request
prayer for a rather unique gospel outreach being held on
23rd August. The speaker
rides a Harley Davidson and has been instrumental in leading a
number from the gangster world in Japan to Christ. Leaflets have
been given out at local motorbike shops and the Black Gospel Choir
members have also shown interest in attending the meeting. Please
pray for the Holy Spirit to
work, leading many to repentance and faith in Christ.
MALAYSIA
Peter Ferry
will be one of the speakers at a
Bible Reading Conference
being held in Kuala Lumpur
from 23rd-25th August and

occasion. The other speaker is Boyd
Nicholson. After this conference,
Peter has a week of teaching
at the Bible School in Taiping,
and will cover the minor prophets in 25 lectures, although not in
detail.

Burt advises that the GLO summer team has just finished their
work at Enniscorthy. Over 200
children attended the clubs, and events for young people and

that the contacts made will not be lost, and that as clubs start up
again in September, the children will remember to go along.
Michael and
Shirley McKillen request
prayer for the Wicklow
Children’s Bible Club, being held from
21st-25th August.
Pray that the Lord will work
in the hearts of these young people.
LEBANON
Saturday
19th August - Nigel White
went back from Beirut to Tyre, together with
Mohamad and other colleagues,
and was able to see the war damage first-hand. At the school a lot
of plexiglass which was used on the roof will need to be
replaced. A meeting was held to discuss the new term arrangements,
and it was decided to hold a three week summer school, beginning on
28th August, with make-up
exams on the 18th and 19th of September. The classes for children
taking exams will start at the end of September, and other classes
will begin two weeks later in October.
