DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Urgent
prayer
is requested for this
country, where presidential elections are currently taking
place. Depending on the results, Christian activity in the
country could be severely restricted. Please
pray
that the believers
will have continued freedom to hold meetings and evangelise.
ETHIOPIA
National worker
Mulugeta
Ashagre advises of a
collision between Muslims and Orthodox, including
Protestants, in the south-west of the country, two weeks
ago. Many people died, some churches were burned, and in the
case of the Coptic Church, people were burned whilst they
were inside the building. The government is taking action,
but
Mulugeta
requests
prayer
that this situation will open a door for the gospel of
Christ.
RWANDA
Chrissie
Mulidabigwi advises
that they have had two attempted break-ins per week for the
last six to eight weeks. Also their dog has died, caused,
they suspect, by eating bad food which had been thrown to
him. This, of course, provides an easy access for unwelcome
visitors. Please
pray
for the Lord’s protection for
Jano
and
Chrissie.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell
request
prayer
for six leaders from their
Black Gospel Choir who they believe are very close to trusting the Lord.
Ken and
Christine have been
holding a monthly Bible study with them and they are really
open to the gospel.
Prayer
is also requested for
Mrs
Kangawa, who has
trusted the Lord and been baptised. She used to belong to an
idolatrous sect, and has returned to their headquarters some
articles they had sent her. She suffers from cancer, so
please
pray
for her healing and growth in Christ.
MALAYSIA
Peter
Ferry will be in
Port Klang, Malaysia, on 4th November
for a day’s seminar on
worship. Four nights of ministry on the Servant Songs will
follow. Please
pray
for
Peter,
and that those who
attend will benefit from the teaching given.
BRAZIL
Walter
Alexander advises
that he is due to speak at a missionary conference in
Belo
Horizonte on
4th and
5th November, and
would appreciate
prayer
as he prepares and carries out this engagement.
CANADA
Peter
Smith is at a small
Assembly at
Paradise
Valley, Alberta.
Besides the Gospel Service he has (D.V.) 5 after-school
children's meetings, and three nights of ministry (Wed. to
Friday). So again he would value our
prayers for the
preparation needed to be done for these responsibilities.
MEXICO
Eglon and
Judith Harris ask for
prayer on
1st and
2nd November, which
are feast days in
Mexico
when people venerate
the dead and visit the graves of their relatives. Assemblies
all over
Mexico
will be organising tract distribution in their local
cemeteries. In
Orizaba
alone, they have printed over 12,000 tracts for
distribution. Please
pray
for the seed that will be sown.
FRANCE
Jonathan
Hanley advises that
Scripture Union are celebrating 70 years of ministry in
France and he will be attending their national conference in
Valence from
3rd to
5th November. On
Friday, he is to take
part in a public discussion on the relevance of the Bible in
today’s world. Please
pray
for God’s blessing on the events of the weekend, and also
for good coverage in the press and other media.
PORTUGAL
ECHOES advise that
Alf
Poland was called
Home on 26th October. Please remember family members and
friends in your
prayers.
LOCAL

Lumsden is
