MALAWI
John and
Priscilla Finegan, who requested
prayer for a room in which to
carry on their work with street children, are delighted to report
that prayers have been answered.
Last week they found a large room in a secure location which will
not attract the attention of ill-wishers. The children who attended
listened well, and had a hearty cooked meal. Afterwards, John was
able to sign for a year’s lease of the room.
Praise God for this
provision.
ZAMBIA
David and
Grace Croudace will be away for the next six or seven weeks
for Bible teaching meetings in an area of Zambia near the Angolan
border. Please pray that this
will be a profitable time for all who attend.
THAILAND
Peggy Ferry
has recently undergone some medical examinations in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia,
and the neurosurgeon there has suggested further surgery, to take
place on 14th September. It
may be that Peter and
Peggy will remain in Malaysia
until the end of September, for
Peggy’s convalescence. Please
pray that the surgery will go well, and for
Peggy’s recovery.
MEXICO
Pam
Jewitt is to have surgery on
5th September. Please pray
that this will be a success and give her some relief from her
symptoms. One of the two surgeons is a Christian, and also the
anaesthetist. Pray for
opportunities to share the gospel with other staff and patients.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Colin and
Rosemary Sheldon mention that during the
first week of September they
will have a special week of prayer
in the assembly, to pray
for the new season of activities and other needs.
Prayer is requested for
openings into the schools with the Bible Explorer programme,
especially the All-Irish Schools, where they hope to use the Irish
version of the programme.
ITALY
David and
Marion Mead request prayer
for their health situation. They will both be in Bristol
during September, as Marion
has to undergo some tests and David
needs an operation, which will take place on
Thursday 7th. They hope to be
able to return to Italy again before coming home for their normal
furlough at the end of October.

OVERSEAS SERVICE
