PRAYER POINTS FOR WEEK 14th August, 2006

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.

RWANDA

Pete and Jenny Andrews advise that three containers have been cleared through Customs. Give thanks to the Lord, and thanks to those who prayed. A team from Medical Missionary News are visiting Rwanda this week, to look at the blessings gained from the containers, as well as other aspects of the work in the country.

PAKISTAN

Murree Christian School are having staff events this week. Please pray for a sense of unity and that each staff member will hear God’s voice and be obedient to His will. Flights into the country have been delayed, and they are currently waiting for five people to arrive, as well as two more who have visa problems. Pray that those at the school will hold on to the truth that God is bigger than their needs.

INDIA

The following message has been sent by M. V. Samuel (father in law of the Treasurer of the Bethesda Assembly in Singapore through whom we sent a gift to Bro. Ramalingham). He got the message from the Indian Evangelical Mission and has forwarded it so we might pray.

Madhya Pradesh Government has tabled a 1 year jail and 5000 Rs fine for accepting CHRIST. This bill is likely to be passed in the next week. Please pray that this bill will not go through Parliament if it be the Lord’s will.

CANANDA

Peter, Elaine  & Danielle Smith have arrived in this country for a short break.

While they are away, their home assembly have a two week Tent Outreach in a nearby community called Oakville. The Portage assembly would greatly appreciate our prayers for this effort, which is being led by our brother Jim McMaster with the help of local brethren. The meetings run from 13th - 28th August, D.V.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

David and Kay Stevens request prayer for their outreach at the Rose of Tralee Festival being held from 18th-20th August.

Noel and Liza McMeekin request prayer for their Bible Activity Week, a children’s outreach being held in their own district of Drum, which commences on Monday 21st August.

ROMANIA

Pray for Tim Gooding (Gilau) who is involved with a camp for teenagers beginning on 14th August..

SPAIN

Please pray for Tim Glasscock who is currently in hospital in Salamanca suffering from peritonitis following surgery for a ruptured appendix. Pray that he will receive effective treatment for further complications.

Jesus and Helen Ortiz advise of a Bible study and evangelistic camp being held in Piedralaves from 16th-26th August. Please pray that those who attend will benefit from their time together around God’s Word.

ISRAEL

News received before the ceasefire:

George Khalil reports that ‘believers are safe in Nazareth, but the situation in Haifa, Nahariya and many Galilee Arab villages is very dangerous. The last rocket in Haifa landed just 20 metres from where some believers were having their Sunday meeting, but none were hurt. Many rockets are landing in the area near Bethesda assembly. Please pray for the safety of all believers, including some serving in the army, and for their witness at this time of fear and insecurity.

LOCAL

Peter & Elaine Smith are expected at the Postal Bible School Camp at Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire for the week August 21-25th.  Philip Kaye, Jonathan Gibson, and Alan Barber are responsible for the meetings. They are expecting 46 campers—28 girls and 18 lads. Please pray for the campers.  Pray that it might be a time when many will come to know the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Pray too that those who are already saved might be encouraged in their faith.

Peter Hartridge (Harrogate) is planned to be responsible for the Gospel Service next Sunday evening at 18:30 hrs, following the Open Air meeting at 18:00 hrs.
