Ron
Penny would value
prayer for his health. Following on from his bout of
shingles in July, he was in constant pain, but, with
treatment, the pain lessened after a month or so. However,
the nerves on the left side of his neck are still badly
affected. Ron’s
ministry is on hold at the moment, as any exertion causes a
relapse, and he also tires easily. He is improving slowly,
but is, understandably, quite frustrated. Please
pray not only for
healing but that Ron
will hear the Lord speaking clearly to him during this time.
Pray, too, for
Lilo as she cares for
Ron.
JAPAN
Ken
and Christine Cowell ask us to
pray for a special
outreach for women on 8th
November. The ladies from the assembly will be
performing a play with an evangelistic message, and
Hiro, their full-time
worker, will preach the gospel afterwards. Many unbelievers
are expected to attend.
BELGIUM
Anne Dryburgh requests
prayer for her work
with individual ladies. Pray
for the Lord to speak through His Word, and for those
who lead to be increasingly Christ-like.
Anne also asks for
personal prayer - for
wisdom, love and strength – as she meets with so many
people.
FRANCE
Jonathan Hanley was involved last Friday in a public
discussion on “Is
the Bible relevant today?”.
He reports that the talks went
well, although he felt there were too many people involved
to get a real discussion going. However the 100 or so people
in attendance seemed to appreciate the content.

Willie
Naismith’s BBC broadcast
on this subject on www.redcargospelhall.org.uk.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Noel and Liza McMeekin advise of special outreach
meetings from 7th-11th
November, when Ian
Campbell will speak at
Drum Gospel Hall on
subjects relating to
evolution, and the resurrection and return of Jesus
Christ. Appointments have also been made for him to speak at
some of the local secondary schools, so praise God
particularly for this breakthrough, and please pray for the
Lord’s help and blessing.
GENERAL
Please
pray for
Andy Street (ECHOES)
as he travels to Africa on
Friday to visit a number of missionaries. He will be
spending ten days in
Botswana, and then going on to
Cape Town, in South
Africa, for a further ten days, finally returning on the
29th. Pray for safety
of travel and that his visit will be a blessing and
encouragement to those he meets.
LOCAL
Paul Richardson (Harrogate) is expected to be with us
next Sunday evening for the preaching of the Gospel.
Materials were stolen from the
Edenhall Grove
building last weekend—presumably by children to help with a
bonfire. Floor insulation boards and plaster board were the
main items taken, valued at about £1,000.
There is a meeting scheduled with
Richard Hackett next
Tuesday (14th
November) to review final requirements on the new Hall at
Edenhall Grove.
