DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Please
pray for
William Rew, who is
currently in hospital in the UK. He was scheduled to have
surgery on Monday 9th April.
Pray also for
Cathie, who suffers a
lot from asthma and is seeking treatment for this.
SENEGAL
Retired missionary
Eithne Church will be
visiting her former country of service for two months from
15th April, to help
with administration duties in connection with the
Wolof
Old Testament
translation. Whilst she is there, she hopes to link up with
churches and believers. Please pray
for Eithne, for
safety as she travels and that she will be blessed and
encouraged, and be an encouragement to those she meets.
ZAMBIA
Retired missionaries
Barry and Rachel Haigh
are making a return visit to Zambia from 18th
April until the end of May. Please
pray for
Barry as he teaches
in the Bible School and for
Rachel as she takes the ladies’ sessions.
Rachel will also be
helping out with the pre-school that she used to run.
ARGENTINA
Heber and Fiona Gallitto (Parana) advise that they
will be holding a baptism service on
14th
April. Two teenagers,
Pablo and Dario,
will be baptised and also their own son
Martín, who has been
asking for baptism for two years.
MEXICO
Eglon and Judith Harris (Orizaba) advise of special
events being held over Easter and beyond. From
9th to 14th April the
assembly is responsible for the youth camp at ‘Oasis
of Living Water’,
Valsequillo, in the State of Puebla. Over 150 young
people are expected to attend. This time of year is usually
a good time of harvest, so please
pray for the Lord’s
blessing and for much fruit to be gathered.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Noel and Liza McMeekin are coming to the end of their
yearly round of prize-givings for the
Postal
Bible School students. So far, over 3,300 people have
attended these meetings and
Noel and Liza
have been encouraged by the interest shown.
Noel is currently
distributing Easter gospel tracts to homes in
Cootehill, and asks
us to pray that
hearts will be open to receive the message.
SPAIN
Ken and Alison Barrett report that the
GLO team which
visited them last week made a very positive contribution,
despite the rain and comparative cold. Please
pray for the
follow-up to this campaign, and also for the next “Tea
for Two” bilingual event, which will take place on
Sunday 15th
April. This is a programme in English and Spanish,
focussing on spiritual matters.
Prayer is also
requested that the Alcala
City
Council will act favourably towards the believers
with regard to them having a stand at the annual Book Fair
at the end of this month.
OTHER OVERSEAS SERVICE
David and Maureen Wood will be joining a
Brass
Tacks team in Zambia from
16th
April until 14th
June. After setting up accommodation for the team at
Kalene Hospital, they
will move down to Amano,
where Maureen will
help out in the school while
David carries out building work on the new dorm
block.
LOCAL
David Cartwright (Redcar) is responsible for the
