Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 07-05 - 2007

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  An index of previous weekly Missionary Prayer Requests is given at the foot of the page.

CANADA

Peter Smith asks for prayer for this week in Charlton (Ontario) taking children’s meetings. The theme for Bible-Time is 'God's Way of Salvation', linking in to the 5 key topics from the serialised book- God's love, Man's sin, Christ's death, Man's choice, God's salvation. Last Monday evening there were 39 children present.

FRANCE

David and Brigitte Sutherland have invited fellow-missionary Heather Skene to come to Arras to hold an exhibition of 30 of her paintings, many of which have a religious theme. The official opening will be on Friday, and local dignitaries have been invited. On Saturday evening there will be an evangelistic talk on Darkness and Light, both in the paintings and in our lives. Pray that many people will visit the exhibition, which will continue until Tuesday evening.

Alain and Christine Monclair (Quimper Region) request prayer for Le Havre assembly which has been going through a difficult period. Alain is visiting them on 13th and 14th May. Pray that he and other leaders will be able to help them through this time.

ITALY

Giuseppe and Rachel Palermo (Fano) have been invited to the church at Spinetta Marengo this coming weekend to do puppet training with the young people, who want to use puppets in children’s evangelism. Please pray that Giuseppe and Rachel will be able to encourage these young people and equip them with the necessary skills.

TURKEY

Please remember Christian workers and national believers in Turkey following the recent martyrdoms in Malatya. Pray that the Lord will comfort the families affected and that the Christians will remain strong in their faith.

LOCAL

The visit to Wheatacres, previously arranged for last Sunday, has been re-arranged for this coming Sunday at 5:00 pm; the earlier start will allow time for refreshments to be taken with the residents.

Jonathan Gibson (Harrogate) is responsible for the preaching of the Gospel next Sunday evening at 6:30 pm. Please remember in prayer.

The AGM is arranged for next Tuesday  evening at 7:00 pm.

Alan Barber  is visiting schools in Peterborough  next week and Bromborough the following week. He would value prayer.
