MALAWI
Jonathan and Ruth Newell ask us to pray for their
missionary colleague Oscar
Mwila, a Zambian national, who will be getting
married on Saturday 21st
April. His bride
Christine is also from Zambia and she will be joining
him in the work in Blantyre.
RWANDA
Peter and Jenny Andrews ask us to
pray for their son
Chris and his fiancee
Angela, who are also
getting married on 21st
April, at Mackintosh Evangelical Church in Cardiff.
Jano and Chrissie
Mulindabigwi will be attending the wedding.
Jano played an
important role in the lives of all three of the
Andrews’ boys when
they were in Rwanda.
JAPAN
Ken and Christine Cowell have been encouraged to hear
that Mr Sugimoto
professed faith last week. He and his wife have been
attending the meetings for just over a year, and his wife
trusted the Lord two weeks ago.
Prayer is requested
for the monthly English service to be held
next Sunday, and for
Ken as he starts
teaching at the university again this week.
Pray that some new
students will start to attend the meeting.
FRANCE
Ian and Francoise Newberry request prayer for
Alan, with whom
Ian has been in
contact for the past five years.
Alan has a stand at
the market where Ian
has his bookstall each Friday morning.
Alan told
Ian that he had
recently been contacted by an evangelical church in his town
and had also attended a Christian concert. He bought a Bible
from Ian’s bookstall,
and one morning Ian saw him at his stall reading the Gospel
of Mark. Please pray
for Alan’s
conversion. Prayer is
also requested for Ian
as he takes seminars on prayer in
Nantes on
21st and 22nd April.
Allan and Anne Kitt ask for prayer for a special
evangelistic evening at
Villefranche-sur-Saone on
Saturday 21st April,
with the choir from Geneva Bible Institute.
Allan and
Anne’s daughter
Rachel and her
husband, who are students at Geneva this year, will be
taking part.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Continue to pray for
Noel and Liza McMeekin,
who finish their run of annual
Postal
Bible School
prize-givings
this week. Please pray
that these meetings will be used by the Lord to reach many,
as most of the folk attending have no other contact with the
gospel. This week, prizegivings will be held on 20th
Carrigaline, and on 21st
Midleton and Clonakilty.
Pray for safety of
travel for Noel and
Liza.
SPAIN
Ken Barrett requests
prayer for the preparation and the commencement of
the evangelical stand at
Alcala Book Fair, from
Friday 20th April onwards.
Please pray for
reasonable weather and for the sale of books which will
bring people to Christ. Pray,
too, for the moves being made by national evangelical
organisations to expose the basic religious inequality being
perpetrated by Alcala City
Council, who want to impose a local tax selectively
on open-air street meetings held by evangelicals. They are
specifically appealing over such a council charge for a
meeting held on Easter Sunday. Ken also
asks for prayer
for a special Science and
Faith conference which will be held at
Alcala University on
Monday 23rd April.
The speaker will be Pablo de
Felipe, an evangelical research scientist.
