ZAMBIA
Short-term worker
Sharon Goldsworthy has sent a report of the baptisms
that took place at Amano
School last Sunday. A testimony meeting was held in
the evening on Saturday 16th and the students were baptised
the next morning, with
Philip Grove
giving the concluding message. Praise God for this
encouragement, and continue to
pray for all those
who were baptised, that they may be strengthened in their
faith and encouraged in their witness.
JAPAN
Ken and Christine Cowell were thrilled last week when
a middle-aged man was converted. It was a sudden turnaround
from scepticism to positive assurance that God’s Word is
true. He wants to be baptised and is very keen to witness.
The day after his conversion, he went to his parents, who
are strong Buddhists, and told them he was a Christian.
Please pray that he
will grow in the Lord.
Prayer is also requested for the monthly
English service which
takes place on 24th June.
ARGENTINA
Bobby Jack would appreciate
prayer as he visits
Cordoba from
22nd-24th June. He
will be taking his model of the
Temple, as a
follow-up to last year’s studies on the Tabernacle.
Pray for safety in
travel and for blessing on his ministry.
BRAZIL
Harry and Jean Reid (formerly Brazil missionaries)
are currently in the country. From the
18th June Harry plans
to start a series of ministry meetings at the
Diamantino assembly.
Please pray for help
for Harry as he
ministers God’s Word and for safety of travel for them both
as they visit these areas.
FRANCE
David and Brigitte Sutherland (Arras) advise that a
group from the church will be singing in the town centre and
a puppet team will be performing at the
Fete de la Musique on
21st June. Please
pray for help and
that many contacts will be made.
Mike and Alison Packer give an update on
Denison’s progress.
The doctors now estimate that they were able to take away 95
per cent of the tumour and he is out of intensive care. This
is a step forward, but it also means that his family can no
longer stay at the hospital. Please
pray for
Denison, as he is on
his own in London. The family home is in Ramsgate. Denison
will undergo another operation this week.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Andrew and Gillian Shanks advise that the
Charleville Agricultural
Show takes place on
23rd and 24th June. This is the first year they have
been allowed to have a stand at this event, so please pray
for God’s blessing as they pass out free literature, CDs,
etc, and chat to folk visiting their stand.
SPAIN
Ken and Alison Barrett ask us to
pray for workers and
missionaries travelling from many countries to attend the
International Brethren
Consultation on Mission at
Wiedenest in Germany,
which starts on 25th June.
Pray for safety for
those travelling by road, and for help for those who have to
pass through many controls at international airports.
