REPUBLIC OF SOUTH
AFRICA
Rodney Brown
would appreciate
prayer as he gives his testimony on a local
Christian radio station on
Thursday 30th August.
Pray that he
will be able to use the occasion to present the
gospel clearly.
TANZANIA
Allan and Jacqui
McKinnon request
prayer as the
Berea Bible College
commences a new term from the 28th August. Eleven
students have already arrived and a possible three
or four are on their way. The formal teaching
schedule starts on
30th August, following the preliminaries. It
is an encouragement that two of the students are
from Burundi,
and one from Kenya,
and also that a number of the Tanzanian students are
returning for a second year.
Pray for the
teaching and administration staff as they settle
down to the college routines.
Pray for a
time of blessing and true learning as they seek to
build Bible character into the lives of the leaders
of the people of God.
JAMAICA
Please
pray for
Winston and Nurkle Litchmore. Winston has
travelled back to Jamaica on his own, as
Nurkle has
had surgery and is remaining in the UK to
recuperate. She has another appointment with the
specialist in a couple of weeks.
MEXICO
Eglon and Judith
Harris report on the effects of Hurricane
Dean on their
immediate
area. There was severe damage to the “South Hall”
assembly building, where a huge tree from across the
road fell on the Sunday school rooms, causing the
roof to cave in. An assessment is to be made later.
Pray for all
those affected. Pray,
too, for Eglon
and Judith as
they are away from home for the next two weekends,
involved in Sunday school seminars.
ALBANIA
Peter Hedley
is travelling to
Albania this week and will stay for three or
four weeks. Please remember him as he travels, and
pray that his
visit will be an encouragement to the believers
there. He
requests prayer
specifically for an evangelistic outreach in
Orikum.
EASTERN EUROPE
Martin and Margaret
Baker are visiting believers in
Sofia,
Bulgaria,
from 28th August
till 6th September.
Martin will
be involved in consecutive ministry and gospel
preaching, and would value
prayer.
LOCAL
Mike Oakes is
responsible for the
Gospel Service on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.
An
Open Air
witness is planned to be held at 5:30 pm outside
Larkswood Rd Community Centre.
