Prayer Requests for Week Commencing   29 - 08 - 2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

TANZANIA

Ron and Maria Cunningham (Moshi) would value prayer for Maria who has a hospital appointment 6th September for tests.  Ron has just received 9 boxes of New Testaments for school work. Please pray for the distribution of these.

INDIA

Ian and Anita Elliott (Delhi) ask prayer for Mrinalini, their daughter, as she prepares for University in England. This week she applies for her National Insurance number.  Her interview for this is 5th September. Prayer would be valued for Mrinalini and  Ian and Anita, as they are so far apart during this process.

THAILAND

Rupert and Janet Abbott(Chiang Mai) would value prayer as they begin to pack and make ready for their departure from Thailand.  Prayer would also be appreciated for Peter (their son, aged 16) who has just arrived in the UK, and will begin his first 6th form term at Dean Close School, Cheltenham on Friday 2nd September.

BOLIVIA

Lucho and Lorna Velez (founding missionaries at La Palmera) have recently been involved in a horrendous car accident.  They were travelling back to Trinidad-Beni when their car overturned on a corner on one of the most dangerous roads in Bolivia.  Lucho has received minor injuries and is fine but Lorna is in hospital in Trinidad-Beni with a broken collarbone, stitches in her head and possible  broken/dislocated hip. Lorna in good spirit but is in a lot of pain if she moves.
