Prayer Requests for Week Commencing     28-02-2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

TANZANIA

Robert Armstrong is due to visit Dar-es-Salaam from 3rd – 28th March.  The main reason for this visit is to meet with the believers at Keko Juu for ministry and encouragement.  Please pray that he will enjoy safety of travel and remember his wife, Ruth, and the family who will remain in the UK.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Paul and Dorothy Grieve (Murchison) - Another Hindu lady was baptised recently. This brings the number of Hindus in the assembly to eight. A number of others from Hindu background attend the Sunday meetings. One man in particular, who still clings to his Hindu religion, attends the meetings when he is able.  Prayer is asked for him as he is the only one left in his family not saved.

Prayer is also asked for the young man who has taken responsibility for the Sunday school after the superintendent and his wife moved away. They have over 100 children attending each week and prayer is asked that the young man will be given wisdom and spiritual insight as he copes with a shortage of teachers and other problems that have arisen.

ZAMBIA

Eric and Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) are settling back into their teaching ministry after returning from UK. Margaret would appreciate prayer as she teaches at Amano School, and for safe travelling. Eric is back to Bible teaching in the colleges. Prayer is asked that both saved and unsaved will attend the weekly Bible studies.

CANADA

Peter Smith travels to Corner Brook in Newfoundland on the 2nd March and will be there until the 8th March.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin - continue the Postal Bible Prizegivings this week at Wicklow (28th), Newcastle and Bray (1st), Belturbet (2nd), Port Laoise, Cloughjordan and Newbridge (4th), and Enniscorthy and Waterford (5th). In addition, please pray that they will enjoy safety of travel as they visit various venues over the coming weeks.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask prayer for the wedding of two of the leadership team of the Alcala church on Saturday 5th March, at which Ken is officiating and preaching.  Please pray for the witness among unsaved family and friends, and the call to believers to strengthen their marriages.

Continued prayer is asked for the process of legally forming the Azuqueca section of the church as an autonomous local church.

LOCAL

Coffee & Chat each Wednesday morning at 10:30 am.

The monthly visit to Yew Tree Care Centre is planned for next Sunday at 5:15 pm. Please remember in prayer this witness of our faith in the Lord to over 30 residents & non-residents.

Cliff Howden (Nunthorpe) is planned to take the Gospel Service next Sunday at 6:30 pm.
