JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell had a very good
Christmas service at Milton Keynes with 7
non-Christians present.
In Japan, a
Christmas concert will be held on 24th
December
in the village of
Tsurui,
about 20 miles from
Kushiro
where
Ken &
Christine served the Lord. On
Christmas Day there will be a meeting in
Mr Chiba’s
new house, also in
Tsurui.
A number of believers are praying for a cell
meeting to be started in this village and
prayer
is requested for this venture.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
John and
Linda Stanfield (Limerick) are
encouraged that
Donna
and John
have faithfully attended their
Christianity Explored course over the
last 12 weeks.
Pray
that they will turn to the Lord for
salvation.
Prayer is also requested for the 1200
gospel calendars which will be distributed
in the run up to Christmas.
Andrew and
Gillian Shanks (Newcastle West) ask
for continued prayer for
Joseph.
The authorities changed his January
appointment and he had to sign on in Dublin
last Tuesday. Following that, on Wednesday
morning Garda officers seized him and took
him to Dublin airport for deportation at 6
pm. At 4 pm, his solicitor obtained an
injunction to hold things over till his
court hearing. Give thanks for this answer
to prayer.
Joseph
is not an illegal immigrant, having applied
for residency through the proper channels.
ITALY
Vicky and
Erion Pici (Marsciano) report that
the children’s work is heavily attacked. 99%
of the children who attend are from
non-Christian homes and so far three
quarters of the children have had to stop
coming due to opposition from their
parents. Some weeks the meetings have had
to be cancelled. It has been discouraging
to see children pleading with their parents
to come only to be told a firm ‘no’
because they are ‘not
part of their religion’.
NORWAY
Nat
and Jennifer Rodgers (Skien) requests
prayer
for the outreach to the international
community in
Skien and nearby towns. A recent
visit by Nat
to the island of
Karmoy
on Norway’s west coast, for a 10-day gospel
mission, resulted in salvation for some who
had attended. There were between 200-400
present most nights. Many requested
prayer
for friends, families and neighbours.
Prayer
is asked that God will be at work on the
island.
