Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 22-03-2010

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last month's prayer newsletter.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

William Rew went to be with the Lord last Friday, 19th March. Please remember all the family in your prayers at this time, as well as those at Katoka who will feel his loss keenly.

REPUBLIC OF S. AFRICA

Paul and Dorothy Grieve (Murchison) (right) have been holding gospel meetings at a complex for the elderly. The numbers attending are small, but include a Freemason and his wife. This couple pay great attention to the message and prayer is requested that the Lord will speak to their hearts.

TANZANIA

Short-termer David Crawford will be visiting Tanzania again for two and a half weeks from 28th March. He will spend a week at Moshi before going to stay with Stephen and Gill Davies in Dar-es-Salaam. Please pray that he will be kept safe and be able to be a help to the believers.

ZAMBIA

National workers Kelvin and Joyce Samwata report that a dedication service was held on 17th March for the Ipusukilo Children’s Trust. The first children were brought to the centre the following day. Please pray that this ministry will be a great blessing to the local community.

FRANCE

Christian and Catherine Moreau (Chateau-Gontier) are taking on responsibility for the weekends for 11-14 year-olds to be held at the campsite in St Lunaire. They are currently preparing for their first one at the end of March. Pray for them in this new venture and give thanks for the provision of a team of keen leaders. In addition, over the Easter weekend, Christian is taking a group of young people to a huge youth convention in Geneva. Pray that others will want to join the group and that much blessing will be seen as a result of this event.

Allan and Anne Kitt (Villefranche-Sur-Saone) request prayer for a special outreach service on 28th March, when the speaker will be French full-time worker Pierre Bariteau.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Please pray for Noel and Liza McMeekin as they continue with the Postal Bible School prize-givings. This week they will be in in Cobh and Leixlip on Wednesday, and in Navan on Thursday. Pray for safety in travel and that the Lord will speak to the parents and children on these occasions.

Andrew and Gillian Shanks (Newcastle West) have requested prayer for their Easter Holiday Bible club, which runs from 29th March until 2nd April. Please pray that a good number of children will attend and show interest. Pray also on the last day as they invite the parents to come along for the prize-giving.

LOCAL

Coffee & Chat on a Wednesday morning at 10:30 am. Please pray  for the small number who come along.

Ministry Meetings on Saturday, 27th March, at 4:00pm and 6:15 pm with Tim Coltman (Burton on Trent)

The Gospel Service on Sunday 28th March is to be taken by Robert Plant (Harrogate). Please pray that God will help those who come along to understand their need of a Saviour.
