ANGOLA
Brian &
Debbie Howden are planned to return on the 3rd March (D.V.)
from their 3-week visit to the Saurimo area.
DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC
of CONGO
Please remember
Peter Smith (Wallsend) in
prayer who following his return from Katoka (14th
February) suffered a heart attack. Whilst there he spoke with an
interpreter at a Gospel Meeting at
Katoka, and a young fellow trusted the Lord.
ETHIOPIA
Robert &
Sheena Revie are back in Ethiopia until early April, seeking
to help and encourage the believers.
MALAWI
Stephen
and Gail Harper (Thondwe) have recently begun holding Bible
studies on Friday evenings in the home of a lady who is a Seventh
Day Adventist. She has invited several of her friends, some of whom
are Jehovah’s Witnesses. Pray
that Stephen and Gail will be able to explain the gospel clearly.
INDIA
Ron Penny
(Bangalore) requests prayer
for a team of 20 evangelists who are working in an area in North
India. They have had a very good response and there has been no
persecution.
JAPAN
David
and Esther Dexter (Miyazaki) are preparing a special
evangelistic outreach from 20th to
22nd March, with a Japanese full-time worker.
Pray for God’s leading in the
decisions that are made, and that the outreach will result in people
coming to faith.
Ken and
Christine Cowell would
value prayer for three
non-Christians who attended the Japanese service in
Milton Keynes and showed
interest. One of them took away gospel tapes and another is doing a
Bible study with a Japanese believer. The next meeting with this
group is on 7th March.
PAKISTAN
Please
pray for
Eunice Jones (Islamabad) who
has had to return to the UK as her father has suffered a major heart
attack.
TRINIDAD &
TOBAGO
John and Margaret Wright have returned to Trinidad and Tobago
from 24th February till 24th March,
to celebrate the centenary of assembly work in Trinidad. There will
be special meetings throughout this year.
HAITI
Echoes
is liaising with the brethren assemblies
in the Dominican Republic, which number over 300, who are keen to
provide practical help with the rebuilding. There are already
engineers/technicians/workman and helping hands prepared for
construction projects as most have been made homeless
ALBANIA
Peter
Hedley reports on “University Student work in
Vlore”. He writes:
"Most people become committed Christians
between the ages of seven and twenty-seven. Therefore it is logical
and biblical to aim the bulk of our evangelistic outreach at this
group. Indeed all of our Albanian assemblies began as a result of
Gospel outreach among children, teenagers and university students.
In the light of this, please pray
for Juli and
Ela Muhameti, and others in the assembly at
Vlore as they continue week
by week to work for the Lord among students, several of whom are
showing a growing interest in the Christian Faith."
FRANCE
Please continue
to remember in
prayer the young girl “Gladys”
who was baptised in January with a heart condition, but has now
developed a brain tumour.
Pray for her encouragement in the Christian life. She is from
a broken home and her father, who was at her baptism, is an
alcoholic.
Colin Crow
(Montpellier) advises that the assembly has been offered a
piece of land for a building, and they are about to sign a
provisional agreement. The land is in a suburb of
Montpellier, in an area where
many of the assembly members live. At the same time, they hope to
sign an agreement to rent a shop-front property in the city centre.
Pray that the Lord will guide
them clearly in these decisions.
Gerry and
Dorothy Seed (Nantes) ask for prayer for the two assemblies
in Nantes, which are going
through some difficult times. Please
pray for the elders who care for these fellowships, that they
will be given strength to keep going despite the problems.
IRELAND
Andrew and
Lorna Burt (Enniscorthy) are looking for a new location for
all their church services and activities. For the past six years the
fellowship has used a local community hall, but this will not be
available to them after the end of February. They are hoping to use
some rooms in a sports centre for the time being, but ideally would
like their own building. Please pray
that the Lord will provide for their needs.
John and
Linda Stanfield (Limeerick) ask us to
pray regarding negotiations
to rent a larger building for Mallow
Street Christian Fellowship. There have been some setbacks,
causing delays and unforeseen costs, so it looks as if it will be
another two months before they can move in.
Please continue to remember in
prayer Noel & Liza McMeekin
(Drum) as they travel around Ireland taking prize givings in
connection with their Postal Sunday
School.
SPAIN
Ken
and Carmen Stunt (Almazan) would value
prayer for a new outreach in
El Burgo de Osma. The elders
of the church in Almazan have
just hired a small hall there and plan to hold a weekly meeting.
Believers from Soria already
have a bookstall in the market in this town.
