ANGOLA
Please
pray
for Ruth
Hadley (Saurimo), who has been unwell
over the last couple of weeks with suspected
hepatitis. She is resting and hopes to
improve with the right treatment.
JAPAN
Ronnie
and Anne Cairns (Akashi) will be
visiting their former area of service,
Izumo,
from 24th to
26th October. They have a very busy
programme, with preaching, Bible teaching,
sharing and counselling, both in groups and
one-to-one.
Pray for the believers, and also for
unsaved folk who will be invited to the
Sunday afternoon coffee hour.
PAKISTAN
Ann Hughes
(ex Wallasey) has had a good week in
Faisalabad.
She was able to visit the brick kiln school
and hear the children reciting Bible verses.
Also, 66 ladies came to the ladies’ rally at
Calvary Church, when she gave the opening
message and
Liz Greig closed with a report about
the work at
Kunhar Christian Hospital. This week,
Ann
will be staying with
Eunice Jones
for a few days before returning home on
Friday.
Pray
for a time of mutual encouragement and that
Ann
will have a safe journey back.
PHILIPPINES
Jonathan and
Jingle Bradford (Manilla) ask for
continued
prayer, as they expect another
typhoon to hit the Philippines. They are
waiting until this one has passed before
they replace their furniture.
Jonathan
has a lot of preaching and teaching
engagements lined up but has lost all his
books and manuals.
Pray
that he will find suitable Bible helps so
that he can prepare his messages.
ARGENTINA
Bobby and
Isabel Jack (Buenos Aires) ask for
special
prayer over the next two weekends,
when Bobby
will be speaking on “Revelation
and the Heavenly Jerusalem”, with an
accompanying exhibition. He will be
presenting the gospel at two of the Sunday
meetings.
FRANCE
John and
Beryl van den Hogen (Roncq) request
prayer
for a seminar on Christian counselling being
held this week in Belgium. About 35
Christians will be attending from the north
of France and the south of Belgium. The
final session takes place next
Saturday
from 2 till 7 pm.
Pray
that those who attend will be able to apply
what they have learned and help lead others
to maturity in the faith.
NORWAY
Please
pray
for Margaret
Hewitt, who is still feeling unwell.
She has severe back pain and was due to have
an operation at the end of October, but this
has been delayed because of a heart problem.
She has not felt well enough to restart the
Sunday school yet. In addition to this, last
week all her bank cards were stolen outside
a shopping centre, by a couple whom she was
trying to help.
SPAIN
Ray
and Eunice Cawston (ex Glasgow) are
visiting
Murcia, until
2nd November.
They have preaching and teaching engagements
each weekend, as well as involvement in
other areas of the work. The church building
is being refurbished to provide a new
130-seat main area with a baptistry,
together with an office and air conditioning
throughout. The area being used at present
will then provide badly needed space for
children’s and youth work.
Prayer
would be valued for this project.
OTHER
OVERSEAS SERVICE
Peter Hedley
(ex Sidmouth) is making another trip
to Albania
from Tuesday 20th October for the next few
weeks. Pray
for him as he travels around and ministers
in different areas.
LOCAL
"Coffee
and Chat" on each Wednesday
morning at 10:30 am.
Andrew
Lumsden is responsible for the
Gospel
Service on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.
