treatment. Give thanks that she is feeling
well in herself.
Brian Howden
(Castle Camps) in the will of the
Lord, plans to return to Angola for a
further 3 week visit on the
9th Feb
2010. Brian's latest report is
included here.
DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Give thanks that
William Rew
is comfortable and able to eat well. Please
continue to
pray for him. He is with his daughter
Elspeth and her family in Worcester. He
always says he is comfortable and at peace
resting in the Lord.
Bethany
Smith (Wallsend) is due to return to
the UK in February, and
Peter Smith
is going out to accompany her home
and do a “few jobs” whilst there.
TANZANIA
Ron
and Maria Cunningham (Moshi) (left)
has recommenced his work among
secondary school students, now that the new
term has started. Last week he was able to
speak to over 200 students and many have
received Bibles during the past year.
ARGENTINA
Jim and
Betty Burnett (Parana) have returned
to the UK for a short while following the
loss of
Betty’s brother-in-law.
Pray
that the Lord will comfort the family at
this time.
Jim and
Betty’s
son, Gordon,
has lived with his uncle and aunt since he
was 11 years old, so will feel the loss
keenly.
BRAZIL
Walter
Alexander’s father was called Home at
the weekend, having reached the age of 99.
Pray
for Walter and
Elizabeth
as they make plans to come home for the
funeral.
HAITI
Please
pray
for all those who are suffering as a result
of the recent earthquake. Over the last week
Ecboes
have been able to establish contact
with the
Emmaus school and
Al Adams
(an assembly member who works in
Haiti) to determine how best to send aid. We
have been strongly advised by our assembly
contacts in Haiti that immediate emergency
needs should be left to the government and
other relief organisations which are better
equipped to handle them.
Echoes
are still in the process of gaining more
information about the situation; it is
obviously confused.
FRANCE
Beryl van
den Hogen (Ronco) would value
prayer
for a special meeting for women taking place
in Lille
on 23rd
January. A speaker from Belgium has
been invited to give a talk on the theme “Worship
– a way of life”.
Pray
that this meeting will be an encouraging
time for all who attend.
Allan and
Anne Kitt (Villefranche) have had to
move their bookstall due to road works next
to the market square, but have been
allocated a far better spot right next to
the indoor market. Weather has so far
prevented them from using the spot.
ITALY
David and
Marion Mead report that there has
been blessing in the assembly at
Paullo,
Milan. A number of people have been
converted in recent months and the church
has been able to purchase larger premises.
David
will be speaking at the official opening
ceremony on
7th March.
Pray
for unbelievers who will be present, and for
the future witness of this new fellowship.
