MALAWI
Jonathan
and Ruth Newell (Blantyre) left)
request
prayer for some new people who have
been attending the church service. One of
these, Mr K,
is the uncle of
Lloyd
and Peter,
who were baptised earlier this year. He has
two very young daughters who have also
attended services.
Jonathan and
Ruth have also had an armed robbery
at their home and have lost their laptop,
among other items. They are due to leave
Malawi today for a short holiday with family
in South Africa.
Pray
that they will know the Lord’s peace and be
able to enjoy the break without worrying
about the security of their house.
ZAMBIA
Barry &
Rachel Haigh have arrived safely back
in Nyagombe. They had a good welcome, and
the house where they are staying is lovely
and clean. Also, the weather is really
lovely!
John Symons
(Mkushi) (right) would value
prayer
for various speaking engagements. He will
speak to a group of churches at
Senga Hill,
Northern Province, from
19th to 23rd
August, on “The
Purpose of the Church”. From
24th to 30th
August he will be speaking at
Mporokoso
and Nseluka,
also in the Northern Province, on the
subject of “Victorious
Christian Living”. After that he will
speak at
Kitwe on “Evangelism
in the light of the credit crunch”.
BRAZIL
Jim and
Carmen Jardine (Uberlandia) remind us
that the swine flu epidemic is still causing
chaos. All schools in
Minas Gerais
state have suspended classes until
further notice.
Pray
for the children and staff members affected
and pray, too, that this situation will
cause people to think seriously about
eternal matters.
CANADA
Peter Smith
is this week in
Vancouver
with the “Fleetwood
Assembly” for a week of Children’s
Meetings. This is the first with this
assembly. After an hour's meeting the kids
will have a choice of outdoor games or
crafts. They value
prayer that a good number will
attend, that adults will come along too, and
that their Sunday School will be built up as
well.
PERU
Luis and
Anne-Laure Mostacero (Trujillo)
request
prayer for their youngest son
Alessandro,
aged 5, who has caught the A(H1N1) virus. He
doesn’t seem to be too bad, but has lost his
appetite and coughs a lot.
Pray
that he will recover quickly.
FRANCE
Colin Crow
(Montpellier) advises that he is a
making a trip to Madagascar. For the first
four days he will be in the capital for the
annual general meeting of the leaders of the
60 churches. He is due to give two teaching
sessions and the final message on
Sunday 30th.
After that he will fly to
Tulear
in the south for ten days to follow up on
the construction of the orphanage. Staff are
being recruited and the children are being
selected, with a view to opening at the end
of September or the beginning of October.
Pray
for wisdom for all the practical details.
GLO

pray
for the GLO
