Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 17-05-2010

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last month's prayer newsletter.

ANGOLA

Please continue to remember the visit of Brian Howden and Jonathan Singleton to Angola. Jonathan is currently visiting Ruth Hadley to help put the finishing touches to the water supply at Camundambala School. Pray that he will be able to complete this work before returning to the UK on 27th May.

The main purpose of the visit is for Brian Howden to attend a bush conference in Luau, near the Congo border from 17th - 23rd May. Many entire assemblies will be attending these meetings held way out in the bush and they would really covet the prayers of the Lords people that the Word of God would be effectual in the salvation of precious souls and the building up and encouragement of the Lords people.

CANADA

Peter Smith  has a series of ministry meetings this week with the three assemblies of L'Anse au Loup, English Point & Red Bay, all in Labrador. He then concludes this visit to the east coast with a first time trip to Prince Edward Island for a weekend conference.

PERU

Luis Mostacero (Trujillo) will be in the USA from 19th May to 3rd June, during which time he will attend an international conference on training, with delegates from various Bible colleges. Luis will give a 25-minute talk during the conference and prayer would be appreciated for this.

ALBANIA

Colin and Elida Stephen (Albania) are encouraged that 10 people have recently made a profession of faith. Pray that they will grow in their understanding of the commitment they have made.

FRANCE

Graham and Alison Black ask that we continue to remember in prayer, "Gladys", that the improvement seen in her health will be real and lasting. Pray also that she will be encouraged in her faith.

Malcolm and Hannah Coombes  (Orange) are planning on Saturday 22nd May, to take a large quantity of Arabic literature to Marseilles, where 250 people are expected to attend the regional meeting for North African believers.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Andrew and Gillian Shanks (Newcastle West) ask us to pray for their ‘Ultimate Decision’ stand which they are setting up at various shows in the south-west of Ireland throughout the summer. They had some good opportunities at Tralee over the weekend and will be at Dromcollogher Show, Co. Limerick, on 23rd May.

ITALY

Paul and Nesta Volle (Montespertoli) are planning to help believers from La Scala with a book table at the market in Ponte Egola next Saturday.

LOCAL

Coffee & Chat each Wednesday morning at 10:30 am.

Andrew Barber (Hartlepool) is planned to be with us Sunday evening for the preaching of the Gospel.
