Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 17-01-2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

LESOTHO

Mark and Malichiba West (Maseru) would value prayer as they come to terms with the effects of two robberies. The second was an armed robbery in their own home where even the children were threatened.  Although very thankful for their safety through these ordeals it has left them struggling to be effective.  Computers, mobile phones, passports etc were some of the stolen goods.  Prayer would be valued for guidance and sustenance.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Colin and Rosemary Sheldon (Dublin)– Colin has a full programme for teaching ‘Bible Explorer’ in Primary Schools.  Prayer is asked that Colin will again have the freshness for each lesson. In addition please pray for the ladies of the Assembly.  The Bible Studies begin this month along with several other programmes.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) - are holding a Mexican evening Saturday 22nd in their home for the benefit of a family in which the only believer is the husband. Prayer is asked that the witness of other Mexican believers may open the heart of the rest of the family.

OTHER WORK

Malcolm (left) and Ann Steer (London) report on the Christians in Iranian prisons. Prayer is asked that the Christians remain strong and that Christ may be glorified through their suffering. They are subject to intense psychological pressure and have no contact with family members.
