Prayer Requests for Week Commencing: 16-04-12

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Rodney and Joy Brown (Cape Town) - Rodney has been invited to preach at a Gospel campaign in Wellington for 2 weeks commencing 22 April.  This will also involve door to door visitation and open air preaching. Pray for Rodney and those involved in this outreach work.

BRAZIL

Harry and Jean Reid (Ireland) are travelling to Brazil on 18th April, for a three month stay. Prayer would be valued for Jean, who has suffered with Parkinson’s for 14 years. She suffered a setback a couple of weeks ago, possibly caused by a change in medication, but this has been corrected and she seems fine. Pray that the Lord will give strength for this journey. En route they hope to visit Descalvado, where they served for ten years; Sao Joaquim to visit the Crawford family; and Manaus.

FRANCE

Mike and Alison Packer (Laval)– Alison is not at all well after recent surgery.  This week she will undergo more tests and the surgeon is reflecting on whether further surgery is necessary. Please continue to pray for Alison and the family.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza Mc McMeekin (Cootehill) – complete the Postal Bible Prize-giving this week at Cobh (19th), Midleton and Cork-Blackrock (20th) and Clonakilty (21st). Pray that lives would be touched by the gospel.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask prayer for a day conference to be held Saturday 21st April, at Almazan for Christian women in Madrid, organised by the Alcala and Azuqueca assemblies.  Prayer is asked for Esther Rodriguez, the speaker, and for those who attend that they will be encouraged.
