ANGOLA
Brian and
Debbie Howden (UK) have provided items for
prayer.
Pray that
Debbie’s application for
renewal of residency will be processed without delay.
Pray for the assembly at
Camundambala; members are
struggling with illness, and there are claims that this is due to
witchcraft. Pray that the
Holy Spirit will convict them of biblical truth. There just seems to
be a state of depression over the assembly. The remaining elders are
struggling and the young folk are demoralised so all in all there is
a great need for God to do a mighty work. Please
pray about this, it is an
enormous battle.
Pray
also for new workers Samuel and
Elizabeth Simonyi-Gindele and their five children, who are
currently in Portugal for language learning with a view to serving
in Angola. Samuel is a
doctor, with a desire to preach and teach.
DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Rachel
Newby (Lubumbashi) seeks
prayer for Kyungu Tuyombo,
who leads the Sunday services and Bible study at the local prison.
Many have professed faith during their time in prison but some fall
away once they leave. Please pray
for all those interested, that they will find Christian fellowship
once they are released, to enable them to grow in their faith.
Mary
Ratter (Whitley Bay) is returning to the Dem. Rep. of Congo
on Wednesday 11th April.
Please remember in prayer.
KENYA
John and
Yokey Roberts (Nairobi) would value
prayer for the renewing of
the lease of their accommodation in
Nairobi, which expires in April.
MALAWI
Jonathan
and Ruth Newell (Blantyre) - ‘The
Journey of Life’ books have finally reached Blantyre and
prayer is asked that they
will be used to touch many lives.
REPUBLIC
OF SOUTH AFRICA
Rodney
Brown (Cape Town) has completed seven weeks of Wednesday and
Thursday ministry meetings with assemblies around
Cape Town. Give thanks that a
19 year-old man was converted after one of the meetings.
Joy takes a Tuesday morning
evangelistic Bible study with ladies, most of whom are not saved.
Please pray that
Joy will have the
encouragement of seeing them all coming to understand the gospel
message and trusting the Saviour.
ZAMBIA
Andrew and
Amanda Kirk (Chingola) ask
prayer for the ongoing building work at
Amano School. The
newly-installed kitchen has enabled them to cater for more pupils,
although the building has yet to be completed. The boys’ new
dormitory will allow more boarding pupils.
Pray for this work and for a
project manager to oversee these projects to completion.
Stephen
and Muriel Studd (Chingola) are currently in the UK, where
Stephen has had medical
tests. Remember him in your prayers as he has had an MRI scan and a
biopsy is planned for the 5th April. He should have the results on
23rd April.
Paul and
Angela Hannay (Kalene) - At Kalene Hospital the work on the
hospital theatre is going well with the help of
Brass Tacks,
although there have been delays due to the heat, i.e. PVC tiles have
had to be refitted. Pray that
the work will soon be completed.
Eric and
Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) - Attendance of students at the
teacher training college to study the Bible has been encouraging.
Pray that the believers among
them will witness to their fellow students, and that those showing
an interest may continue seeking. In addition, pray for
Margaret as she continues her
weekly girls’ sewing and Bible study classes, and the Saturday
Good News Club
for children. She would value
prayer for a younger person to assist in this work and
eventually take over.
ARGENTINA
Heber and
Fiona Gallitto (Parana) ask
prayer for a couple, Ivan and
Gisela, who made a commitment to Christ recently. Also,
prayer would be valued for
Andres,
Nelson,
Julio,
Alejandro,
Elian,
Ramon and
Emanuel, who are all
struggling with addiction. In addition, please
pray for
Heber and
Fiona as they are involved in
the production of resources for Christian schools, assemblies,
open-air activities, TV and radio broadcasting, etc.
BRAZIL
Harry and
Beth Wilson (Senior Workers) request
prayer for the annual
conference being held in Porto
Alegre on 6th April.
Pray for a blessed time of
fellowship and encouragement.
JAMAICA
Nurkle
Litchmore (May Pen) has returned to Jamaica following
successful medical treatment in the UK.
Prayer is valued for her
ongoing health and for Winston
as he has an appointment at the Glaucoma Clinic on
17th April.
Pray that there will be no
more deterioration in his sight.
ALBANIA
Enris and
Sylvia Nase (Tirana) - Enris
would value prayer for his
involvement in translating a book for teenagers into Albanian,
mainly about moral issues from a Christian perspective. They hope to
print 10,000-15,000 copies for distribution in high schools.
BELGIUM
Anne
Dryburgh (Kuurne) asks prayer
for three contacts. Two believers, who struggled for many years due
to personal issues and did not attend meetings, now seek to renew
their faith, and one new believer, previously having been prevented
from attending meetings, is taking part in Bible study.
Pray for
Anne as she seeks to
encourage these ladies.
FRANCE
Graham and
Alison Black (Bouc-Bel-Air) - More and more radio stations
are asking to receive short programmes. Recently, 25 short
messages/daily readings from the French assemblies’ daily reading
calendar ‘Vivre
Aujourd'hui’' were recorded. The readings are made up into
three-minute programmes, with an introductory signature tune and a
conclusion offering literature or a Bible correspondence course. In
addition, the radio presenter Daniel
Corones has recorded another series of 40 programmes. These
are 15-minute programmes with a message of around 7 minutes.
Pray that these recordings
will be a blessing to many when the time comes for them to be
broadcast around the French-speaking world.
Alan and
Valerie Kyle (Dunkerque) would value
prayer for the future of the
bookshop. Although sales have dropped, many gospel calendars, Bibles
and books have been sold recently and meaningful conversations held.
Pray that the shop will
maintain a good witness in the centre of
Dunkerque.
Allan Kitt
(Le Havre) has taken the texts for the
2013 edition of the
devotional calendars to the printer in Grenoble.
Prayer is asked that the Lord
will speak to people through these daily Bible readings. In
addition, he and Anne have
been encouraged by the commitment at prayer meetings and those
inviting friends to attend services at
Le Havre. Please
pray for this small assembly
and the outreach work.
ITALY
Alec and
Patrizia Catchpole (Naples) are starting a ‘Christianity
Explored’ course for the first time in
Pozzuoli church. It is hoped
that believers will help, and invitations are being given to new
contacts. Pray that the right
people will attend and that some will come to faith. In addition,
please pray for Antonella,
who has heard the gospel many times, having attended the decoupage
group and now the new knitting class.
Pray that she will come to
know the Lord.
NORWAY
Nat and
Jennifer Rodgers (Skien) would value
prayer for
Joy, from China, whose
Norwegian husband is not yet a believer,
Anastasia from Kenya, and a
family of eight from Lithuania, who are among the many nationalities
attending the meetings at Skien
assembly.
SPAIN
Terry and
Kath Wickham (Valencia) have had some disappointments
recently concerning the delivery of the New Testament Commentary
they’ve been working on for the last 20 years. This is due to the
current economic crisis which is affecting the publishing business.
Pray that the Lord will
overrule, and that some compromise can be reached so that this
long-awaited project can be brought to completion. There is a
similar problem with a book on ecology which
Terry and his son
Michael have written; the
publishers have no finance left for the job.
Pray for the Lord’s solution.
Terry and
Kath both have health issues;
pray for strength for each
day.
