ZAMBIA
Please
pray
for
Julie-Rachel Elwood, who has gone to
Zambia this week to begin full-time service
for the Lord. She will be working as a nurse
and midwife at
Chitokoloki
Hospital,
as well as being involved in children’s work
and other forms of outreach.
Jean-Luc
Hainaut (Eliya) advises that his leg
injury (see Missionary Prayer Request,
4th
May) is now healing well following treatment
at
Chitokoloki, and he has been able to
go back to work. Give thanks for this answer
to prayer.
John and
Gwyneth Symons (Mkushi) say they have
just had one of the best baptism services
they can remember at
Chengelo
School. 121 people were baptised,
most of whom had come to the Lord whilst at
the school. One former student, now aged 30,
gave a clear testimony of how she had
searched for the truth since leaving
Chengelo.
Give thanks for this encouragement and
pray
that the Lord will continue to work among
the children.
INDIA
Ron
Penny (Bangalore) reports that a
cyclone has hit the Calcutta region
recently, causing widespread damage and
affecting mainly poor people. There is a
great need for medicines, as many are sick
from drinking contaminated water. Tarpaulins
are also needed to protect people from heavy
rain and from the heat of the sun, now that
the monsoon season has started.
Pray
for Ron
as he seeks to liaise with others to help
those in need.
JAMAICA
Drs
Winston and Nurkle Litchmore advise
that the
Midland Bible Institute was recently
broken into. One member of staff lost her
purse and laptop, and a book containing
personal details. In addition a number of
laptop computers were stolen and some cell
phones. Thankfully no one was injured but
the staff and students were shaken by this
event. Some of the aforementioned items have
been returned but the computers have been
sold on by the thieves. The security at
Midland
Bible Institute is being reviewed and
police advice is being sought. Please
remember this situation in your
prayers.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Colin and
Rosemary Sheldon (Dublin) will be
distributing various gospel magazines to
homes around the assembly during this month,
as will many other workers and churches
across the country.
Pray
for God’s Word to have an impact.
John and
Linda Stanfield (Limerick) have been
encouraged recently by the conversion of a
man called
Jackie, who is ill with lung cancer.
Pray
for this man and his wife and son.
John
and Linda
have also had two replies following the
distribution of a gospel magazine in the
local area.
Pray that others who have received
the magazine will ask for further literature
and that the Lord will speak to them through
His Word.

weekend with the
Kilometre
Zero outreach team from Spain.
Pray
for them as they preach on the streets of
