Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 15-02-2010

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last month's prayer newsletter.

ANGOLA

Brian & Debbie Howden have been invited by the brethren at Capenda Camulemba, (6hrs drive from Saurimo, towards Luanda) for meetings and God willing have arranged to be with them from 19th to the 22nd of February. As ever please pray that the Spirit of God would give gracious help in the preaching of the Gospel and teaching of Scripture.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC of CONGO

Peter Smith (Wallsend)  is currently at Katoka, doing a “few jobs”, and then coming home with his daughter, Bethany.

JAPAN

Ken and Christine Cowell, who served full-time in Japan until last year, have another meeting with the Japanese fellowship at Milton Keynes on February 21st. There are always a number of non-Christians present at these meetings. Pray that the Lord will speak to each person.

THAILAND

Geoffrey and Pat Atkinson Mae Sariang) will be travelling to the Thai/Lao border on 22nd February for three days of meetings with Khmu leaders from Laos. Pray for Geoffrey as he gives ministry and seeks to help and encourage the believers.

CANADA

Peter Smith expects, God willing, to have a PBS booth, for the first time, at the Saskatchewan Home Schooling Conference in Regina on the 18-19th February. They are hoping this will result in many new recruits and open up further opportunities to promote PBS in that province.

FRANCE

Graham and Alison Black  would value prayer for a young girl called Gladys. Graham gave the message at her baptism in the assembly in Grasse on 10th January and they have just been informed that that she has been diagnosed as having a brain tumour. Please pray for her as she is already in poor health because of a heart condition. Pray, too, for her encouragement in the Christian life as she is from a broken home and her father, who was at her baptism, is an alcoholic.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Please pray for Noel and Liza McMeekin (Drum) as they continue with the Postal Bible School prize-givings. Pray for safety in travel and that the Lord will speak to the parents and children on these occasions.

NORWAY

Nat and Jennifer Rodgers (Skien) will be travelling to the island of Valderøy, on the west coast, to take a special series of ministry meetings. Pray for the Lord’s blessing on the teaching given.

LOCAL

Coffee & Chat on a Wednesday morning at 10:30 am. Please pray  for the small number who come along.

Mike Oakes is responsible for the Gospel Service on Sunday, 21st February.
