MOZAMBIQUE
Patrick Mulenga,
Zambian mission worker in Mozambique,
reports on recent flooding in the Zambezia
Province of Mozambique. He writes:
The
cyclone with massive rain has left the
believers in Zambezia Province homeless and
starving. It is another catastrophic natural
calamity, men women and children are living
in the hills. They have lost their homes and
their maize fields have been washed away,
while the fields of cassava are rotting due
to flood waters. The most urgent need is for
iron roofing sheets and food.
Last October
when they were visited they had enough food,
what they needed then was the written word
of God (Bibles). It is sad that they have
lost everything, including their place of
worship. The area has 58 local churches.
Please
pray
for Patrick and his colleagues as they
respond to this need. Some funds have been
sent from the Echoes Disaster Fund and more
will follow to help this acute need.
