ANGOLA
Brian
Howden’s next visit to Angola (D.V.) will be on
17th February 2012, and
Debbie will join him on
2nd March as she needs to
renew her residency permit. They will then return home together on
14th March.
BOTSWANA
Clark
& Hazel Logan have recently returned to
Gaborone. In the next week or
so they hope to receive five believers into fellowship and two of
these will be cases of restoration. This brings much joy. They would
ask prayer for the hundreds
of children who hear the Gospel each week through Sunday Schools.

Joy
Griffiths (right) has now returned to
Gaborone after an extended
period in the UK. Please pray
that she will quickly settle back into her role there.
ZAMBIA
Paul and
Angela Hannay (Kalene Mission) advise that, following the
installation of loud speakers in the hospital, patients and
outpatients are able to listen to Christian music and also Bible
readings in both English and Swahili. A group have begun to
broadcast gospel messages during the afternoon, on a rota basis.
Pray that through this
ministry many will come to know the Saviour, and those who know Him
will be encouraged.
Eric and
Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) would value
prayer for
Margaret’s health as she
undergoes specialist tests to help diagnose the reason for frequent
chest infections.
Jean-Luc
and Rita Hainaut (Elija) (right) request
prayer for their furlough in
the UK until the end of May; they will be based in the Missionary
Home in Cardiff. They will be quite busy and would appreciate and
value prayer for meetings
they will be attending.

Julie-Rachel Elwood (left) asks for continuing
prayer for the work at
Chitokoloki as they enter a
new year. Prayer is asked for
the language and outreach projects, for all the patients they come
in contact with daily, who hear the gospel and return home. Please
also pray for the village
outreach, prison work and work in the schools. A new outreach has
been started in the form of English gospel meeting on Sunday
evenings. Many of the hospital staff come from town areas and do not
speak local languages so these meetings are aimed at them.
ARGENTINA
Heber and
Fiona Gallitto (Parana) – The outreach to the homeless
continues to go well. There are 7 in the team and 3 men are ex
alcoholics or drug addicts, so they can relate easily to the people
they are helping. Some of the homeless have attended meetings and
prayer is asked especially
for M and A.
BOLIVIA
Mario and
Helen Ponce (Cochabamba) ask
prayer for B who was
released from prison in December after serving many years. She read
the scriptures and prayed
with other ladies during her internment.
Prayer is asked for her as
she adjusts to life outside the prison, for her health, which is not
good, and for a replacement witness inside the prison.
David &
Lorna (Nee Edwards, Stockton)
Brickman ask if we would pray
with regards to their future service. They are at
Trinidad-Beni until May and
will return to the UK, but after that they don’t know what the Lord
wants them to do—stay in the UK? Return to
Trinidad-Beni?
BRAZIL
Jim and
Carmen Jardine (Uberlandia) would value
prayer as
Jim ministers at the adult
Sunday School in the Bairo
Canaa Assembly until March
2012.
CANADA
Peter
Smith report that in a little over two weeks time their home
assembly will be commencing a three week (minimum) Gospel series
with Mervin Derksen and
Bryan Joyce expected. They
are praying
that it may be a time when several of their young people will be
truly spoken too, as well as hoping that many from the community
will come along, including two or three of the mums who attend the
Parents & Tots group.
Peter also asks for
prayer for knowing God’s will
with regards to the summer’s Tent
Missions. Please
pray that
the Lord will guide them all to know His will and to clearly direct
their path for July & August.
MEXICO
Eglon
and Judith Harris (Orizaba) - As Sunday School attendance has
dropped during 2011 they would value
prayer as the assembly take steps to contact parents of
children who do not attend regularly, give talks on parenthood, and
create special workshops for the teachers.
BELGIUM
Anne
Dryburgh (Kuurne)
meets with several ladies who are, or have experienced personal
problems and trials in their lives.
Anne asks prayer for
these ladies, that they would grow in the Lord and that she would be
given wisdom as she meets with them.
FRANCE
Ronnie
and Heather Skene would appreciate
prayer as after 28 years in
France they will be moving back to Scotland
in February. They have been
encouraged by local church members in
Figeac taking on
responsibility in the assembly, and there are now about 30 members.
The rented building in which they meet is quickly becoming too
small. Prayer would be
valued for the situation.
Briand and
Helene Tatford – Pray
for Helene as she undergoes a
‘by pass’ scheduled for 6th February.
Pray that
Helene will be strong enough
for the surgery to take place successfully, and that she would make
a swift and full recovery.
ITALY
Alec and
Patrizia Catchpole (Naples) -
Pozzuoli, where the hall is located, is a very poor area of
Naples. Drugs, crime and unemployment are just some of the endemic
problems that leave families in a state of desperation.
Prayer is asked that the Lord
would really guide them as they seek to present the good news of
hope and life that there is in Christ. Many of the members of the
assembly live in this area which means that there are already some
open doors. A group is being formed which hopes to reach out to the
illegal immigrants, prostitutes, housebound and lonely. Please
pray that the Lord will
encourage them as they reach out with the gospel in this needy area.
