Prayer Requests for Week Commencing: 12 - 12 - 2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

INDIA

Ian and Anita Elliot (Delhi) give thanks that Mrinalini’s university loan has been sorted after 6 months. She is settling well into university life at Middlesbrough and is also involved in the local church (Hebron, Stockton). Prayer is asked for Ijaaz, who is struggling with his written work and for Mridvika, who has been offered a sixth form place at Dean Close in the UK. They need to apply for a bursary and ask prayer for this application.

JAPAN

Tom and Nui Hill (Koshigaya) - Prayer is asked for several new believers at Matsubushi assembly, and also for a young lady and a young man who attend the gospel outreach and seem deeply interested. Both the Koshigaya and Matsubushi assemblies will hold a number of Christmas gospel outreaches and prayer is valued for these. A ladies’ outreach meeting is to be held on 22nd December and 80 ladies are expected to attend.

David Dexter (Miyazaki) and his co-worker Al have  extra teaching times at the prison on 20th December. Pray for this additional opportunity to spend time with prisoners.

FRANCE

Malcolm and Hannah Coombes (Orange) would appreciate prayer for the assembly’s singing group as they sing carols at a Retirement Home in a nearby town on 17th December. Malcolm will be singing solo.

Gerry and Dorothy Seed (Nantes) hope to be able to take part in a Christmas outreach to girls on the streets. Dorothy is involved with ‘The Friends of Rahab’, a ministry to young women (often still teenagers), who are or who have been involved in prostitution.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

David and Kay Stevens (CastleConnell) would appreciate prayer for special conversations as they take gospel calendars to 50 or more houses locally. Pray for them as they plan to move to Dublin and step down from leadership at Mallow Street Hall. Also pray for the leadership and members of the fellowship at this time of change.

John and Linda Stanfield (Limerick) would value prayer as they plan a new venture to provide a meal for the homeless on 19th December, and for the small team who go out onto a pedestrianised street in Limerick City Centre using sketchboards and giving out gospel literature.

Andy Shanks (Newcastle West) reports that last Sunday night (11-12-11) they held their annual Christmas outreach. They do this by means of a concert where the children from Sunday School and Kid’s Club learn different pieces to sing and read various items and in so doing invite their parents along.  They give thanks that 20 unsaved came along. Pray for the billboard Christmas poster due to be displayed from the 12th December for 2 weeks.

ITALY

Giuseppe and Rachel Palermo (Milan) - would value prayer for a special evangelistic Christmas outreach being held on 18th December. It will involve puppets, children’s readings and a buffet! Prayer is asked for the preparation and that contacts will attend the event.

LOCAL

Coffee & Chat each Wednesday morning at 10:30 am.

Redcar Gospel Hall Carol Service is due to be held  on the 18th December at 6:30 pm, and will take the form of a series of Lessons and Carols. Approx. 600 invitations to the Carol Service have been delivered this week to local houses. Please pray that there might be a positive response.
