Prayer Requests for Week Commencing   12- 09 - 2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

John and Gwyneth Symons (Zambia 2001- 2009) – John is due to fly to Zambia on Friday for three weeks.  He will teach at the GLO Centre, Ndola for a week, spend a week in Chengelo, and several days in the Northern Province. In October he is travelling to Pakistan. Please pray for spiritual freshness and safety of travel during this period of concentrated activity.

She has received an accommodation offer from the University which she has accepted; however the problem of a student loan has still to be resolved. Ian has been able to speak to an advisor.

JAPAN

David and Esther Dexter - Prayer is asked for the ongoing work in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami.  David has recently returned from the badly affected areas. Pray for those helped through the work done, and those who received New Testaments and tracts. Pray also, for the local churches in their daily witness, as they seek to reach out to those in need.

David would also value prayer for the prison work in Miyazki.

Ken and Christine Cowell - Yumi Yokoyama, a Christian worker in Kushiro, is to have surgery for a brain tumour on 15th September. Prayer is asked for her and her family.

PERU

Luis and Anne-Laure Mostacero (Trujillo)Prayer would be valued for Luis who is travelling on September 17th to Chiclayo to give talks on the ‘history of the brethren’. He will also be speaking to a group of young people on the subject of ‘finding your partner’.

Ronnie and Heather Skene (Figeac) are holding a Bible exhibition 14th-25th September. Please pray that many local people will attend and that some will accept the offer of a series of public meetings on how to read and study the Bible.

Colin and Maureen Crow (Montpellier) ask prayer for the church weekend in Montpellier 17-18th September. The main topic for several years has been the need for new premises. Colin has been invited to a meeting on September 20th with four managers from the Planning Department for Montpellier and the region. It is hoped that this will lead to a positive step towards acquiring a piece of land to build a new church building.
