Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 12-04-2010

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last month's prayer newsletter.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

On Sunday, 18th April, Rodney Brown (Cape Town) will begin a four-night gospel campaign at Woodlands assembly in Mitchells Plain. He asks us to pray that the Lord will bless His Word.

ZAMBIA

Give thanks that Amanda Kirk and family friend Mark (Chingola) seem to be recovering well from their injuries. Mark has now been discharged from hospital and Amanda should be home by the time you read this. She has a lot of pain in her arm, although it is not broken. Please continue to remember them in prayer. Other missionaries are helping Andrew by providing meals and caring for the children. Pray for them as they carry this extra load in addition to their regular responsibilities.

Pray also for Rod Boatman (Kitwe), who will be giving a survey of the New Testament to students at the Ndola GLO centre from 19th to 22nd April.

INDIA

Ron Penny (Bangalore) asks for prayer as he speaks nine times at a Bible College graduation weekend, from 16th to 18th April. He and Lilo have to make a 37-hour train journey to get there, but will be flying back on 19th. On 27th April, they will be coming to the UK for a few weeks.

FRANCE

Colin Crow (Montpellier)will be getting married on 17th April to Maureen Williamson, an American commended worker. The civil wedding takes place on 16th and will be followed by three further ceremonies – in the Strasbourg assembly on 17th, in Montpellier on 24th and then in Pennsylvania on 26th June. Pray that the Lord will bless Colin and Maureen as they continue to serve the Lord together. Pray also for the testimony to unsaved friends who will attend the service in Strasbourg.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin (Drum) have the last of this year’s Postal Bible School prize-givings next week. They will be in two locations in Cork on Monday 19th, then in Gorey on Tuesday 20th and finally in Carrigaline on Friday 23rd. Pray for safety in travel and that the Lord will speak to the parents and children on these occasions.

Andrew and Lorna Burt (Enniscorthy) (left) are preparing for their youth weekend away this weekend. About 15 teenagers have signed up so far, but there could be more. Most come from families that do not attend the church. Pray that God will speak to these young people.

ITALY

Adino and Eleanor Ricossa  (Mmbello Monferrato) request prayer for the ladies’ weekend at Oulx, from 16th-18th April. 75 ladies are expected. Pray that they will be willing to put into practice the Bible teaching they receive.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask for prayer on Friday 16th, the children's’ outreach in the park starts again. Please pray for the team as they try out new material and for the families contacted. On Saturday, the annual Book Fair begins in Alcalá and will continue for more than a fortnight. As usual, there will be an evangelical stand. Pray for the volunteers from different local churches as they work together.

LOCAL

Coffee & Chat on a Wednesday morning at 10:30 am. Please pray  for the small number (about 15) who come along.

Tom Turton is responsible for the Sunday evening Gospel Service at 6:30 pm.
