Prayer Requests for Week Commencing    04 - 04 - 2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

MALAWI

Stephen and Gail Harper (Thondwe) would value prayer for guidance as they prepare for returning to Northern Ireland for an extended furlough to prepare their son Philip for the next stage of his education. At present they are vacating the premises of the book/coffee shop in Zomba but unfortunately there is no one as yet to continue the work. Prayer is asked for the future of this work after they have left, and for the many contacts that they have been supporting.

Ron and Maria Cunningham – Ron and local evangelist Ombeni, visited the  director in Moshi to request the possibility of Emmaus Bible courses being announced over the Radio Network. The director was very Prayer is asked for this venture to be accepted.

INDIA

Ian and Anita Elliott (Delhi) would appreciate prayer for Hebron School and for their three children who board there. The school needs to find suitable replacements for the principal and vice principal who are leaving. Anita will soon be visiting there for parent’s week and will return with the children for term holiday. During her time at Hebron there are important issues to consider such as Mrinalini’s plans for university and Ijaaz’s final choice for A levels. Also Mridvika needs to get her residential permit updated.

Prayer is also asked for their extended family Santosh, Kiran and Susheela whose father died recently.

JAPAN

David and Esther Dexter (Miyazaki)– David has another prison visit on 8th April. Prayer is asked for health and strength to be clear minded, as Al, who normally shares the teaching with David is away.

Ronnie and Ann Cairns (Akashi) write to say that they will be having an “Open Church” for the neighbourhood, which will be followed on the 10th April with a lecture on the theme, “Security when all is giving way.” Prayer would be appreciated for this.

THAILAND

David and Maureen Wood (Chang Mai) ask for continuing prayer for the staffing needs at Grace School as there are still many vacancies for the next school year.

BRAZIL

James and Jenny Crawford - Radio programmes are still maintained in two different states. In Manaus however they have not been able to get time on the radio, but the brethren have a public address system above the hall which they have used to relay a 30 minute programme three times a week. As a result some visitors have been coming to the meetings. Prayer is asked for the radio work and that as a result souls may be saved.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin - continue the Postal Bible Prizegivings this week at Fermoy and Mallow (4th) Cobh (5th) Gorey (6th) Carrigaline (7th) Midleton (8th) Clonakilty (9th).
