BOTSWANA
Jim
and Irene Legge (Serowe) (left)
would value
prayer
for the Easter Conference. As meetings will
be held in a large tent,
prayer
is especially requested for dry weather.
MALAWI
Jonathan and
Ruth Newell (Blantyre) would
appreciate
prayer for their Easter programme: a
trip to
Zomba on Good Friday, a special
Easter Sunday Service, and a church meal on
Monday.
ZAMBIA
Eric and
Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) request
prayer
for two young people’s Easter camps.
Pray
for lasting conversions rather than
emotional responses.
Pray,
too, for a visit during the Easter holidays
to South Africa where
Margaret
will see a medical specialist; it is hoped
that she will receive help to prevent
bronchial attacks and so finish teaching the
school year without further health problems.
JAPAN
Ken Cowell
spoke at the Japanese meeting in London last
Sunday. Pray
for blessing on
Ken’s
ministry and that the Lord will continue to
speak to those who attended.
Noel
Hamilton (Japan 1988-94; 00-11)
speaks of encouragements and blessing in the
continuing clear-up operation AFTER THE 2011
Tsusami
in which he is involved. Having experienced
the kindness of Christians, some have
expressed a desire to attend church; some
have come to faith; new churches have been
planted; and new homeowners are being
presented with Bibles.
Pray
that God will continue His saving work in
the lives of those who have lost loved ones
and possessions.
Noel’s
current participation in the relief
operations is coming to an end.
Pray
that he will know the Lord’s wisdom and help
for future service.
BRAZIL
This week,
John and
Claudete Axford (Tupi Paulista) will
be at Santo Amaro Conference, in the
mountains. This will involve considerable
travelling, so
pray
for safety and that they will enjoy good
fellowship and blessing.
Following
exploratory surgery, doctors decided not to
operate on
Walter Alexander, but have altered
his medication;
pray
that this will be effective.
Pray,
too, for a visit to
Carceres
from 5th-9th
April.
CANADA
Peter Smith
reports much to praise God for following
their recent Gospel campaign at his home
Assembly. Some
six souls professed faith in Christ. A young
girl, a young mum and a young man (all
linked to families in the assemblies). Plus
two men and a lady who have no Christian
background. The lady is a mum who attends
the Parent & Tots work on Friday mornings.
Amanda needs a lot of prayer as she faces
some difficult choices now that she is
saved. Already the young man and young mum
mentioned first have been baptized. So they
have much to praise the Lord for.
COLOMBIA
Anita and
Kathleen Keith-Gillon (Armenia) ask
prayer
for Gustavo,
Sofia,
Juan Felipe,
Julian O,
Jorge V,
and Hector
Fabio, all facing various challenges
in their lives, and all needing the Lord’s
help. Pray,
too, for a workshop being held on
Thursday 5th
April and a
Broken Cisterns seminar on
Friday 6th.
ALBANIA
Enris and
Sylvia Nase (Tirana) report that a
large team from Germany is helping this week
with outreach to university students,
children’s work and tract distribution. Next
week, a team from Northern Ireland will
follow up with further tract distribution,
hoping to engage people in conversation.
Pray
for meaningful contacts to be made during
these two weeks of concentrated outreach, as
a special evangelistic evening will be
arranged each week at the meeting place.
EASTERN
EUROPE
Martin and
Margaret Baker (Senior Workers) will
be in
Slovakia from
5th-17th
April for Easter meetings in
Bratislava
and visits to other assemblies.
Pray
that they will be encouraged and be a
blessing to those they meet.
ETHNIC
MINORITIES
Ruth Cushing
(Merseyside) requests
prayer
for the Easter outreach programme.
Pray
for the preparation and that as the ladies
listen to the Easter story they will be
moved to respond. Many, if not all, will
have no idea what Easter is about, so this
presents a great opportunity for sharing the
gospel message.
FRANCE
Allan and
Anne Kitt are delivering invitations
for the Easter service to the 400-500 homes
in the immediate area where they regularly
distribute literature.
Pray
that they will see some response.
Pray,
too, that Christians in
Le Havre
will take the opportunity to invite
friends and neighbours to Easter Sunday
lunch.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Andrew and
Gillian Shanks ask prayer for the
Easter Holiday Bible club for children aged
5-11 being held in
Newcastle
West this week. The programme will
run from 10 am to 1 pm each day. Adverts
have been placed in the local newspaper and
this has already resulted in three
enquiries, so
pray
that word will get round about this event. A
prize-giving will be held on Friday, when
parents are invited.
Pray
that the gospel will have an impact. As the
Bible club is being held in a community
building,
pray for opportunities to witness to
other groups using the facility as well as
staff and management.
LOCAL
Coffee
& Chat each Wednesday morning at
10:30 am.
A visit to
Yew Tree Care Centre
is planned for Friday
at 11:00 am to share the Easter message with
the residents.
John Wallace
(Hartlepool) is planned to be with us on
Easter Sunday
evening for the preaching of the Gospel.
Over 600 invitation cards to this Easter
Service have been distributed to local
housing, so please
pray that
there may be (D.V.) a positive response.
