DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Erika Dannat
recently retired
to Germany after serving in the Congo for 40
years. She asks us to
pray that
the national evangelists and assembly elders
will lead with integrity, and that Bible
teachers may be raised up to instruct the
believers.
Pray also
for a missionary couple to be called to
Likasi,
where
Erika
served.
ZAMBIA
Stephen
and Muriel Studd (Chingola) ask us to
pray
that the Lord will send a mechanic to Zambia
who will be able to help them long-term with
the maintenance of two large lorries which
are being delivered for use on the assembly
mission stations.
Pray,
too, that they will be able to find a secure
site on which to park the vehicles.
JAPAN
Please pray
for Ken Cowell (Kushiro), currently
in the UK, and who is to have a bypass
operation. It is hoped that he will be
transferred to St George’s Hospital, London,
if there is a bed available.
BAHAMAS
Mark Lacey
reports that it is just one year
since they moved into the New Haven. Whilst
the number of
Students
in the Program is growing, he says that they
will not be able to fulfil the vision, or
capacity, of 24 men without further Staff.
Please pray
for a
Bahamian National
to fulfil the position of
Night
Manager. They also need a
National Bahamian to become the
Workshop Manager to oversee the Carpentry
Shop and also introduce some suitable light
industrial work.
Please
pray
that the Lord would lead and guide in the
filling of these two important positions.
CANADA
Peter &
Elaine Smith have become grandparents
to a baby girl,
Tressey
Jewel, via their daughter
Leanne
and husband
Steve.
Tressey
was born at 11:00 pm on the 23rd Dec.
and weighed in at 6lbs 12 oz. and is 19”
long. Both Mum and baby are doing well.
JAMAICA
Please
continue to remember in
prayer
Nurkle
Litchmore (Clarendon), who is still
in the UK and will be undergoing various
hospital tests over the next few months.
Pray,
too, for
Winston, who has to fit in trips to
the UK around his responsibilities at the
Midland
Bible Institute.
AMERICA—
South Carolina
Charles &
Gloria Morris extend their warmest
greetings to the saints at
Redcar,
and trust that we are well and finding much
cause for encouragement in our blessed
service for the Lord.
FRANCE
Graham &
Alison Black report that their
ministry is now almost 100% with the “Voice
of the Gospel”
Radio Station. Their application for a radio
frequency for a new evangelical radio
station in the
Marseille
area was turned down by the
authorities, and so the project will not
move ahead for the time being.
In 2007 they
received around 2,500 letters from all
around the French speaking world, to which
there have been 1,000 replies. 1,350 of our
own courses have been corrected and 700
Bible Institute courses. 125 courses to new
students have been sent out and 110 books,
booklets and various brochures.
They thank us for
our interest and
prayers
without which the work would not continue,
and wish us God’s richest blessing for 2008.
IRELAND
Andrew and
Gillian Shanks have settled into a
rented home near
Newcastle
West (South West Ireland)
and would appreciate
prayer
for guidance as to what work they should be
involved in. One possibility for service is
having a stall at agricultural shows as they
did during the summer. Please
pray
for clear direction.
LOCAL
Praise the Lord
that people accepted the invitation to the
Carol Service on the 23rd. Please
pray that this will not be a one-off
event, but the start of a regular attendance
under the sound of God's Word.
The
Gospel Service at Redcar on the 6th
January is planned to be taken by
Mike Oakes.
