REPUBLIC OF
SOUTH AFRICA
Rodney and
Joy Brown (Cape Town) are in
Vredenburg
this week for outreach meetings. They
are having children’s meetings from Monday
to Friday in the mornings and holding gospel
meetings in the evenings. Please
pray
for them as they travel, for help in all the
practical arrangements, and that the gospel
message sown will bear fruit.
BAHAMAS
Mark and
Carol Lacey say that there is still a
great need for a Night Manager and Workshop
Manager at
The Haven and would appreciate
prayer
for these vacancies to be filled as soon as
possible.
Pray for
Mark
and Carol,
too, as they spend some time in the UK.
CANADA
Peter Smith
starts Tent Meetings on the
6th July
in his home town of
Portage.
Local brethren
Jim Webb
and Andrew
Bergsma will be alternating nightly
in sharing the adult meetings with Peter.
Please
pray that they will know real help
from above as they prepare ourselves and His
Word for this outreach.
BELGIUM
Anne
Dryburgh (Gent) asks for
prayer
for the summer camps which are beginning
this week. She says these are important
times for young believers, who tend to be
isolated in their faith, and also for young
people who are hesitating to make a
commitment to the Lord because of the cost
involved. Please
pray
that the Lord will work in the hearts of
these young people during the camps.
FRANCE
Allan and
Anne Kitt (Villefranche-sur-Saone)
were encouraged by the baptism of
Milly,
who was mentioned on a previous update. The
family for whom she has been working were
all present at the baptism and she gave a
very clear testimony.
Pray
that they will continue to be impressed by
her witness after she leaves and returns to
Kenya.
GREENLAND
Hans and
Jonna Sivertsen (Nuuk) have reminded
us of camps starting now. The first of these
is currently running with 25 nine-eleven
year-olds attending. The second camp starts
on 6th July,
with 25 children aged 12 and 13. Three trips
of wilderness camping will also be held on
1st, 8th and
15th July, with between 8 and 10
young people aged 14-17 on each trip. Please
pray
for the leaders and that the children will
have fun, be kept safe and learn to trust
the Saviour.
SPAIN
Please continue to
pray for Ken
Barrett (Madrid) as he trains people
in sketch board evangelism for the summer
outreach in
Zaragoza during the international
Expo 2008 exhibition which lasts from now
until September. He will be there until
Thursday 3rd
July, and will then return to
Madrid
to lead the city centre evening evangelism
there. On Friday evening, he and
Alison
will lead the last of a series of
children’s open-airs in a park in
Alcala de
Henares.
Pray
that in each place God’s Spirit would bring
conviction to the hearts of those who
listen.
Kath Wickham
(Valencia) -
No update
has been given concerning her condition, so
this is a repeat of the previous week's
prayer request.
Kath
continues in a very critical condition, with
total mechanical ventilation and dialysis.
The heart functioning is also receiving
medicinal stimulation and she is heavily
sedated. Please
pray
for Terry
and the family at this difficult time. The
church is being very supportive and the
family is aware of the prayers of many.
