Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 28-01-2008

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

ETHIOPIA

Ex-missionaries Robert and Sheena Revie advise that Sheena has an appointment on 8th February for an oblation procedure to the heart. They are glad to have got an appointment so soon and would value prayer that all will go well and that this will effect a complete cure. They say they will be guided by the surgeon about their future plans.

PAKISTAN

David and Maureen Wood (Murree) request prayer for the elections which are due to take place on 8th February. Pray that these will be peaceful.

FRANCE

Alison Packer is now feeling stronger and has been able to eat some solid foods, but it will take a while for her body to adjust. She is grateful to all those who have prayed for and supported her during this difficult time. Please pray for her continued recovery.

Ian Newberry asks us to remember him and those attending prayer seminars due to take place in the next few weeks. The next one is being held in Orange on 2nd and 3rd February. Pray for help from the Lord for Ian as he prepares.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Andrew and Gillian Shanks request prayer for a baptism service being held on 3rd February, when an 18 year-old man called David is to be baptised. He was saved about 18 months ago and has been doing Bible studies with Andrew over the last couple of months. Pray that his parents will attend the baptism.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask for prayer for their continued journey in Peru. Pray particularly for their health, as Alison has an infection and both have heavy summer colds. They delayed their flight into the jungle area until Sunday to join Luis Mostacero in the Bible Institute being run for leaders and workers at Yurimaguas. Pray for their adaptation in this week and for stamina.

LOCAL

Don Hinchcliffe (Malton) is planned to be with us this Sunday for the preaching of the Gospel at 6:30 pm.

Coffee & Chat”,10:30 am to 12:00 pm, on Wednesday, 30th January. Please pray that if it is the Lord's will, this informal time together will be used by Him to bring real blessing to those living in the locality of the Gospel Hall.
