Prayer Requests for Week Commencing: 26-02-13

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

ANGOLA

Ruth Hadley – Ruth has broken her ankle. She has returned to the U.K. and has undergone surgery.  She will convalesce in Cornwall. Please pray that she will make a full and speedy recovery.

D R of  CONGO.

Rachel Newby (Lubumbashi) (left) asks that we pray for those whose lives have been threatened by the increasing violence of militia groups, mainly in the North Katanga area. Many people have fled to the bush for safety.

Please pray for Rachel and Mary Ratter’s safety, for wisdom and guidance in any decisions regarding visitors arriving soon, and that these visits will be able to go ahead in safety.

BAHAMAS

Mark & Carol Lacey - Pray for Mark in Hyderabad, India, for the O.M. Team Leaders 5 day conference. He will then travel to Kolkata on the 2nd March for a further conference. There will be visits to the various slums where the Teams are working and participation in their work in both locations. Please pray for safe travel, good heath and the Lord's blessing on the times spent teaching, counselling and encouraging. He will return on 12th March

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Noel and Liza McMeekin (Cootehill) continue the Postal Bible Prizegivings in Rathdowney and Templemore (27th) and Port Laoise, Clough-Jordan and Newbridge (1st March). Pray for safety of travel, good attendances at each venue, and that lives would be touched by the Gospel.

David and Kay Stevens (Dublin) report that the Monaghan and Belturbet Prizegivings last week were both very well attended, with about 200 at each venue.

Andy and Gillian Shanks (Newcastle West) have been encouraged that Gerry, who owns a Tyre business next to the new assembly hall in Newcastle West, has recently become a believer. Andy began a Bible study at the home of Gerry and his wife Nadina three weeks ago. Pray for Nadine, that she will come to know Christ too. Please keep praying for this couple. There is a lot of teaching ahead! What an encouragement to us all.

An open day for the community will take place at the new hall this Saturday 2nd March, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Andy plans to visit all the local business owners this week and we trust that they too will come along. Pray that many will attend.

SPAIN

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask prayer for a mens´ breakfast to be held on Saturday 2nd March at the Alcala assembly, and for the stimulus, from a short weekend visit from Guy and Jocelyn Pembroke (ex- mission workers in Peru).
