Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 26 - 01 - 09

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale, but this is not currently available on the web site.

ETHIOPIA

The Bible School in Chobi is now starting its third week. Please pray for the students who attend and that the teachers will receive wisdom and help from the Lord during this time. Pray particularly for Birhanu Beyene, who is leading the teaching this week, from 26th-31st.

INDIA

Ron Penny requests prayer for a three-day Strategic Initiative Seminar to be held in Orissa from 27th-29th January. Twenty-four men have been invited to attend.

ARGENTINA

Heber and Fiona Gallitto (Parana) have camps lined up for the next two weeks. The first one, from 24th-29th January, is for teens, and the young people’s camp follows, from 29th January-3rd February. Please pray for the smooth running of the camps, and that the young ones who attend will go home either having trusted the Lord or grown spiritually. Heber is responsible for the first camp, along with a 21 year-old called Nicolas whom he is training up. Another man called Gastón who works alongside Heber will take charge of the young people’s camp. Fiona has the responsibility of administration for both camps and for the kitchen in the first one.

CANADA

Peter Smith continues with adult Gospel Meetings in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Two young men, sons of Christians have made professions. Different adults and one or two student contacts have also attended, as well as children of families in the Assembly.

Peter is sharing responsibility for the meetings with Matthew Cain of the Halifax Assembly, and they feel more in need of our prayers as they seek to present God’s word clearly and simply to many young souls as well as adults.

 LOCAL

Coffee & Chat each Wednesday morning from 10:30 am.

David Clark (Redcar) of our own fellowship is responsible (D.V.)  for the preaching of the Gospel next Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.
