ANGOLA
Brian &
Debbie Howden have returned safely
from their visit to
Saurimo
and describe it as “a very
profitable visit”. They were so thankful for
the prayers
of the Lords people especially this first
visit back without the boys.
Please
remember in
prayer the National Conference
meetings being held this week in
Benguela
(sea-side resort on the west coast)
from 24-28th August.
Ruth Hadley
(right) is attending to report on work
that has been done in Angola.
Prayer
is asked for those leading the conference.
There is a growing
call amongst some brethren to
'modernise' local assemblies and these
meetings could well determine the course of
the work for the future. Please
pray
that God will raise up national believers
who will be faithful to Biblical principles
and that there may be a spirit of obedience
and submission to the Word of God.
ZAMBIA
Philip and
Deborah Cole (Chingola) – Philip
thanks all who have
prayed
for him over the past months regarding the
accident last October when a cyclist died.
They attended court in
Solwezi
on Friday 19th August where the
judge acquitted him on the basis of ‘no case
to answer’. The acquittal papers were
issued along with the return of his passport
and driving licence.
Debbie Scott
(Chingola) would appreciate prayer as
she prepares for the new school term at
Amano School starting, 5th
September. On
27th
August Debbie will be travelling to
Lusaka
to pick up
Hilary Millard returning from
furlough.
Debbie would value
prayer
for safety as it will be her first long
drive on Zambian roads.
FRANCE
Jonathan and
Amanda Hanley - Prayer would be
appreciated for the ‘Bible Training Course’
camp held during this week at the
Centre des
Jeunes, St Lunaire. About 30 young
adults are expected to attend.
Prayer
is asked for those participating, and those
teaching.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Andrew
Shanks and
Colin Burnett (Canada) will be taking
the ‘Ultimate
Decision’ tent to the Limerick Show
on 27th and 28th August.
ITALY
Rod and
Debbie Jones (Naples) - Prayer is
asked for
Rod and
Debbie
as they lead this week a children’s camp
with about 100 children present. The family
camp follows from the
28th
August which gives them an
opportunity to spend some quality time with
families from the church and surrounding
area.
FINALLY
Please remember
the GLO
outreach team this month in
Hungary
(Domos) 27th
August - 4th
September.
LOCAL
Coffee
& Chat each Wednesday morning at
10:30 am.
Alan Barber
is planned to be with us on Sunday evening
for the preaching of the Gospel at 6:30 pm. Please remember
Alan and
this outreach in your prayers.
Bob
Loughborough (ex Open Air
Mission) would value
prayer
for
his wife Pearl, who is suffering with
spinal
stenosis and also arthritis of the
spinal cord. She is in a very serious
condition, struggling to walk.
