DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Mary
Ratter (Katoka) asks for
prayer
this week, when the Governor will be
visiting the area and coming to see the
hospital at
Katoka.
Pray
that this will be a God-honouring occasion.
MALAWI
Jonathan and
Ruth Newell have been sent a
container from
Medical Missionary News and ask for
prayer
that they will be able to get this released
from Customs without any problems.
Please
pray
for Janet
Stafford of
Torch Trust for the Blind, who hopes
to visit Malawi from
20th July
until 4th September. During that time
she will also make some visits to
Mozambique.
A young man from her assembly in Leicester
will be travelling with her. He, along with
two other believers from the UK, will be
renovating a resource centre for blind
children in a primary school in the Shire
valley.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell (Kushiro) would
value prayer
for the second part of their
Prayer
Ministry Counselling Course, which
takes place from
25th to 27th
July.
Prayer is also requested for two
Gospel Choir Workshops in two venues. The
first is on
26th July in a town 60 miles from
Kushiro,
where several unbelievers will be taking
part for the first time. The second workshop
is in
Kushiro on
27th,
and the person leading it is a keen
Christian.
Ken will be giving short messages at
both places. Last week nine members who
aren’t Christians came for a cell meeting,
and another lady who trusted the Lord
earlier this year plans to be baptised in
September. Give thanks for these
encouragements.
PAKISTAN
Dr Haroon and Miriam Lal Din, from
Kunhar Christian Hospital, are
currently on a year’s sabbatical.
Liz Greig
asks for continuing
prayer
regarding the scarcity of doctors at the
Hospital. A Dutch doctor is coming on 27th
July to help for a month, but after that the
Pakistani doctor,
Dr Irene,
will be on her own.
It is a 20-bed
hospital with a staff of 52. Housing for
families and single staff and other
facilities are also available. The Lord has
used the medical and evangelistic work for
His glory - even more so in the
post-earthquake years.
SPAIN
Ken and
Alison Barrett (Madrid) thank those
who prayed
for permissions for the
Azuqueca de
Henares family outreach. Praise God
that most of these have been granted – at
least verbally. Please continue to
pray
for the open air programme, which runs each
evening until
26th July;
especially that firm contacts will be made
with local families. In Madrid city centre,
the local police are trying to remove all
‘street performance’ in order to reduce
cover for pickpockets.
Pray
for wisdom and adaptation for the leaders of
the open air work, as they are using other
less ‘prime’ sites to carry on the
testimony.
LOCAL
The
Open Air
witness continues on Sunday at 5:30 pm.
David
Cartwright is responsible for the
Gospel
Service at 6:30 pm. Please
pray
that there will be those present whose
hearts the Lord will touch.
