MALAWI
Jonathan and
Ruth Newell have made arrangements to
have an invitation service on
27th April
and would value
prayer
that the Lord will send those He wants them
to reach and build relationships with.
ZAMBIA

For the last week
Eric McCaughren (Kitwe) has been
teaching some basic principles for
interpreting Scripture for two hours each
weekday. These sessions end on
25th April.
Please pray
that key young men for the future in
Kitwe
assemblies may attend faithfully and that
the Lord will give help. The need for
capable, competent Bible teachers is ongoing
in most assemblies.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell were very encouraged
last week at the women’s outreach when as
many as 20 unbelievers attended. Do
pray
that the Lord will continue to work in their
hearts. On
Saturday 26th they have a Craft
circle meeting. Please
pray
that unbelievers will come and that the Lord
will speak to their hearts.
On Sunday
27th April,
they are starting up their English outreach
again. Ken
will start teaching first-year students at
the university on Wednesday, so
pray
that new contacts will be made and that some
will come to the meeting on Sunday.
MEXICO
Eglon and
Judith Harris’s daughter-in-law,
Grissel,
has recently finished another set of
chemotherapy and is feeling very ill. Before
the Lord, she has decided to have no more
chemotherapy, and will take morphine as
needed. Please
pray
for her and the family at this difficult
time.
FRANCE
Jonathan and
Amanda Hanley request
prayer
for a baptism service being held this
Sunday 27th
April. Those being baptised are their
son Mani,
a young lady called
Melanie,
and
another lady,
Annick, who was converted a couple of
years ago and attends church with her
husband
Gabriel and their four adopted
children
from Haiti.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Noel and
Liza McMeekin continue their
Postal Bible School prize givings
this week in
Blackrock, Rockboro and Fermoy.
Pray,
too, as Noel
and Liza
take their Bible class away this weekend,
25th-27th
April, when
Sam Balmer
will be the speaker. Please
pray
that the Word of God will be a blessing to
the young people.
ITALY
Angela Isac
(San Miniato) says that her mother’s
operation lasted ten hours but she is making
good progress and is up and walking.
However, it will be three months before she
is out of danger. It is hoped that she will
be able to go home towards the end of April.
Please continue to
pray
for complete recovery and that unsaved
family members will think about the things
of the Lord and come to faith in Him.
SPAIN
Ken and
Alison Barrett request
prayer
for a group of Christians who will be
witnessing at a cultural exhibition on the
Jewish presence in Spain. This takes place
from
Thursday to Saturday this week in the
neighbouring village of
Cobena.
Pray
that the door to this community may remain
open. Another small team of believers will
be conducting an open-air meeting in
Alcorcon
on 26th
April.
Pray
for them and also for those who are running
a stand at the annual
Alcala Book
Fair between
22nd April
and 4th May. Please
pray
for reasonable weather.
Pray,
too, for the children’s meetings being held
in the park in the
Juncal
area.
LOCAL
"Coffee & Chat"
on Wednesday morning at 10:30 am. The
numbers attending are much lower than we
would like, but for the immediate future it
is the intention to continue with this form
of outreach.
The
Gospel
Service next Sunday is planned (D.V.)
to be taken by Andrew Lumsden (Redcar).
Prayer
Request
A Christian
brother has asked us to
pray
for his 28 year old granddaughter (not in
fellowship), who went blind in one eye about
3 years ago. She has now been diagnosed that
her remaining eye is going the same way. An
operation costing £5,000, outside of NHS
Funding, could possibly help. We're asked to
pray for this situation, that the
necessary finances will be raised, and that
the procedure, if undertaken, would be
effective.
