MISSIONARY PRAYER REQUESTS:
FEBRUARY 2017
ANGOLA
Ruth
Hadley (Saurimo)
has had
to return to the UK for health reasons.
Pray
for a real sense of the Lord’s peace and strength for
Ruth
and her family as she undergoes treatment.
MALAWI
Stephen
Harper
has had a successful visit to
Malawi
to establish book depots in several parts of the country, as well as
getting the distribution of the 2017 Calendar underway. He
had fruitful meetings with a translator and printer, and is
optimistic about the publication of essential Bible Teaching
materials in the coming months.
THAILAND
Peter
and Peggy Ferry
–
Peter
would appreciate
prayer
as he has been diagnosed with skin cancer on his forehead. He
started treatment at the end of January. Some years ago, he had skin
cancer on his nose which was dealt with while in the UK.
CANADA
Peter & Elaine Smith
have a busy month after having returned from the funeral of
Elaine's
mother. They are visiting the West Indies from the
9th February
for a
week of ministry meetings at
St Vincent,
and then
a further 2 weeks at
St Lucia,
again for ministry of God’s Word. They ask
prayer
on what
to teach, and also that local primary and high schools will open
their doors for a visit.
PERU
Richard and Pam Harknett (Trujillo)
return to the UK on
23rd February.
Remember them as they bring closure to a blessed period of service
over the last 11 years.
Pray
for them as they think through future ministry for the Lord.
FRANCE
David and Brigitte Sutherland (Lyon)
would appreciate
prayer
for an African woman who came to their church, invited by another
church member who works with prostitutes. She wants to begin a new
life, and they had two hours of discussion and
prayer
with her. Please
pray
for this woman and for those who are trying to help her.
Margaret Davis (Caen)
would appreciate
prayer
for an
Iraqi
refugee family she has been visiting. She has been speaking with the
mother who is suffering from shock after all they have lived
through.
Pray
for this family and that they will continue to be open to
prayer
and the gospel.
William and Liz Irwin (Nantes)
would appreciate
prayer
for a family whose parents have recently accepted the Lord, and
their children are also open to the gospel.
Pray
for this new family in the Lord Jesus, that they will grow in Him
and see their children won for the Lord.
Graham
& Alison Black (Bouc-Bel-Air). Graham
is continuing with his chemotherapy treatment, and
his next 3 sessions are planned for
February 2nd, 23rd,
and 16th March. He is also having blood thinning injections every
day. He will have the implant removed at the end of the
chemotherapy.
IRELAND
Noel & Liza McMeekin (Drum)
are in the process of organizing the annual
Prize-givings
at different venues. They ask us to
pray
that as the good news of the gospel is shared with students and
parents, the seed will bear fruit in salvation.
For the past 12 months it has been evident that their
son,
Gareth,
with his wife
Margaret
and their two children (Rachel
& Eva), was being led to take over the responsibility of the
PBS.
This will allow
Noel
&
Liza
more time to work locally in connection with the
Drum
Assembly
NORWAY
Nat and Jennifer Rodgers (Skien) – Nat
and
Jennifer
would very much value our
prayers
for
Jennifer's
father, who unfortunately has fallen a number of times of late. He
is 96 years of age.
ROMANIA
Tim and Jenny Gooding (Cluj)
would value
prayer
as they have finally obtained 'Reception'
for their house and the children' Home, which means
that following the next stage of the process, they can begin
registration to open the Home (see
November Missionary Newsletter).
Pray
that they will be able to complete the paperwork swiftly and for
suitable employees for the home.
SPAIN
Ken
and Alison Barrett (Madrid)
would value
prayer
as they continue to trust the Lord, for the funds for the
Red Box HQ premises
in
Madrid.
The total needed is €850,000 and by New Year, there was "only"
€200,000 to find. The funds are needed by Easter Sunday. In
addition,
pray
for
Ken
as he continues to prepare for the ‘Cross
of Christ’
intensive course which he will be teaching on
4 February.
Tim and Elena Glasscock (Pontevedra)– Tim
recently had a fall and has broken his heel. It is currently in a
cast and is confined to home.
Pray
that it will heal quickly and that it will not cause too much
disruption to his daily activities and commitments.
ETHNIC MINORITIES
Ruth Cushing (Merseyside)
would value
prayer
for
'A'.
Her claim for asylum was refused and just before Christmas she put
in a fresh claim.
She has been allowed to go
back to the hostel she was previously in, which means, among other
things, she can continue to have the support of a local church she
attends.
Ruth
writes
that it has been an encouragement to watch her grow
in her Christian life.
