ETHIOPIA
Robert Revie
travels to Ethiopia on the 31st May for 2 months. He has a busy
schedule but is looking forward to spending time with the
believers.
Robert
would value
prayer
on this deeply emotional trip.
REPUBLIC OF S. AFRICA
Rodney & Joy Brown (Cape Town) –
Give thanks for the 25,000 Gospel texts distributed
during a ten-day ‘Seed Sowers’ outreach event in
Namibia.
The literature was well received and quite a few discussions with
locals were held.
Pray
that a church will be established in
Namibia
and that the Lord would open the door for mission workers to go
there in a full- time capacity.
Simon Mubanga
is a brother from Zambia, and asks us to
pray
that the LORD will
provide the resources needed for beginning gospel work in
Windhoek in
Namibia soon!
TANZANIA
Stephen
& Gill Davies (Dar-Es-Salaam) -
ask for
prayer
for the children they teach that the seed sown may have found good
ground and bring forth eternal fruit.
They
have had completed all the necessary building work so that
Aziza can have an
extra bedroom and kitchenette. Bunk beds with mosquito nets have
been provided for her 2 children.
The
Kinzudi
assembly continues to meet for worship and witness, although fewer
in number than in the past. The elders are very close to completing
the assembly constitution so that the believers can be registered
with the Tanzanian Government. This has taken many years (as many
things do in Africa) but they are now very close. Please
pray
that things will progress smoothly over the coming weeks towards a
positive outcome.
CANADA
Peter
Smith
writes that they now have
some
2300
students and their families, along with a faithful team of 260
teachers. He would love to hear that some have trusted the Saviour
and so
pray
often for God’s blessing in salvation. One point he would especially
value
prayer
for concerns his desire to add ‘younger blood’ to the board. They
need the Lord’s guidance as to who they should approach to join us.
Also please
pray
that the pressing needs of the PBS work (the office workload, the
large monthly costs and recruiting new teachers) will be met by our
Heavenly Father, according to His perfect will.
Please
pray
for
Sue Ellery,
who has been asked by the Canadian
Emmaus
Bible School to
start a PBS work in their new premises in northern Ontario. It will
be simply known as
Emmaus
PBS (Postal Bible
School) and will operate on the same basis as themselves, using the
identical database etc.
PANAMA
Clive & Hazel Walker (Santiago) –
Please
pray
for the
Atalaya
fellowship. In April they purchased a property with a small house on
it and the plans are to renovate the house into Sunday School rooms,
a kitchen, bathrooms and a meeting room where the believers can meet
each week.
FRANCE
Graham
and Alison Black (Bouc Bel Air)
have just had a very encouraging request from a man who did Bible
courses with them while he was in prison and for one reason or
another stopped doing the courses around three years ago. He has
just written to say that he wants to start doing the courses again.
It was unfortunate that he stopped because he was someone who did
the courses very thoroughly and regularly. It is a great
encouragement therefore to have him back. Please
pray
for this man,
Mr N.
NORWAY
Nat
and Jennifer Rodgers (Skien)
would appreciate
prayer
for the work in the prison. Please
pray
for a man who has been serving 9 years has recently been released.
He became a believer before he was released. Please
pray
that he will continue to draw close to the Lord and will quickly
adjust to life outside of prison.
SPAIN
Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid)
would value
prayer
for the purchase of the
Red Box
premises in Madrid city centre. A deposit has been
paid, with the main payment to be received within a year. Please
pray
that the funds will become available to complete the purchase of
these premises.
VARIOUS AREAS
Roger and Yvonne Malstead
would appreciate
prayer
for their film ‘Jesus,
Son of God?’,
which has been produced in
Albanian.
Please
pray
that the Lord will use this film to share the gospel in the smaller
towns and cities and that they will be able to show this on the
local TV stations.
Peter & Riitta Hedley –
Give thanks for recent encouragement in the prison
work in
Albania.
Many prisoners are open to the Gospel and some have come to faith in
Jesus.
Pray
also for the children’s home in
Gjirokaster
and for
Jorida,
who will take over the role of Director at the end of the year. She
is being mentored by
Marijan
Nijhof
and is settling in well, learning quickly and enjoying the work.
Opal Trust (“Overseas
Publishing and Literature”)
currently have the Gospel of
Luke
available in 8 Different languages in one 500-page book. The
languages comprise English, French, German, Turkish, Croatian,
Russian, Arabic and Persian. This is particularly suitable for use
in evangelism by those working with immigrant groups and refugees in
UK and Europe. These are available free of charge while stocks last.
In the
UK we have plenty of Bibles, but the people have no desire to read
it.
