ANGOLA
Ruth
Hadley (Saurimo)
would appreciate
prayer
for the work in the school at
Camundambala.
Please
pray
that as the Scriptures are taught and choruses are sung each day
that the seed of the Word of God will be sown in their lives. Please
also
pray
that two of the teachers at the school will be able to be put on the
government payroll, a process which is made more difficult due to
corruption.
Also please
pray
for the situation in Angola. The country has been in financial
crisis for the last year. Many commodities are no longer available
with prices rising steeply. Salaries have remained the same for the
Angolans making life extremely difficult for many people.
Jonathan & Ruth Singleton
have returned to Angola for 2 months from the beginning of
July.
They will be based in
Camundambala. Jonathan
will be spending his time (a) sorting out container goods (b) doing
building maintenance work (c) shoring up
Ruth Hadley’s
kitchen sink units.
Ruth
Singleton
hopes to be teaching in the school during the day,
and at night supporting the boarding children.
They need
prayerful support
for this visit that glory might be brought to God in every detail.
Please
pray
for health, safety, strength, & wisdom.
ETHIOPIA
Robert Revie
sends the following update:
“I spoke to a packed hall in
Batie.
The interest has been so good recently that the believers are going
to be extending the hall because of the numbers attending the
meetings, which is most encouraging. After I spoke one of the
elders spoke in detail about how much the believers in
Batie
had appreciated the work that
Sheena
had given to their area. When I thought of the love and respect
that the believers displayed it brought floods of tears and I was
truly broken. The work of compassion is wonderful, with 250
children in their care – 87% from Muslim homes. Who knows what will
be the result in a few years from such a ministry”.
MALAWI
Jonathan Newell (DPG Malawi 2002-2013) – Jonathan
will be visiting Malawi from
2nd – 11th
July
to take photographs for a new book intended to help
Malawians understand Christianity. The visit will also involve
preaching and teaching.
Pray
for safety of travel and that he will be a blessing to all those he
meets.
ZAMBIA
Barry & Rachel Haigh
are due to leave
Nyangombe
at the end of July for
S. Africa,
where he has a number of
speaking
engagements, prior to their return to the UK.
Barry
has been giving Bible teaching at the
Nyangombe Christian Training Centre,
and also taking various meetings, including a 3-day outdoor
conference which 548 people attended. He had planned to speak on
parts of John’s Gospel, but they were adamant that he spoke on the
Second Coming. Please remember them in
prayer.
Timothy and Joy Beer
(Loloma)would
value
prayer
for the senior boys’ camp which will be taking place from
1-5th
July.
Please
pray
that those who attend will be receptive to the gospel and that many
will be saved.
They
would also appreciate
prayer
for more workers to join them in
Loloma
as two of their workers were called home last month.
Pray
for the family and friends of these workers and for those taking on
the additional responsibilities. In addition,
pray
for a couple who have recently reunited after the wife left a year
ago.
Pray
that the Lord will help them to rebuild their marriage.
CANADA
Peter Smith
asks
prayer
for the
following:
·
PREPARATIONS
for the 4 Children’s Series in July/Aug – 3 new themes & 1 new
serialised story. The first one is in a Tent at
Roseisle,
beginning 4th July.
· ROSEISLE
TENT
– God will truly speak to some of the lads who have
attended for several years.
· WINKLER
TENT
– For renewed contact with those who attended the
previous past 3 kid’s series. For 2 couples to come back, who showed
real interest over our 7 Monday nights last winter. Also that
Jack Gould
& I will
have real help in preaching the Word and for the Lord to be
glorified.
· Please
pray
that accommodation arrangements will be available at Winkler.
· PORTAGE
TENT
– that the Lord will save among our own 23 families.
(linked to both assemblies)
· PBS
CENTRE
– Please
pray
with us that the
monthly support
for PBS would significantly increase, to enable us to continue to
freely
distribute approximately 2300 Bible lessons each month. There is
also the pressing need for more new teachers, especially to mark
NewLIfe.
· NEWLIFE
PROJECTS
– that time will be found to keep these both ticking
over during our busy summer schedule, so that the good progress made
in recent months won’t be set back again.
BELGIUM
Anne
Dryburgh (Rekkem)
would value
prayer
for the church in
Rekkem.
Pray
for the Lord to work in the hearts of people who recently visited
the church in Rekkem during the Annual town fair, and for those who
received Christian literature. In addition,
pray
that the monthly discipleship group will continue to grow in the
Lord.
IRELAND
Mike & Shirley McKillen (Gorey)
would value
prayer
for a busy month in God’s will:
1. PBS
Camp
- 16th—23rd July, and the need for helpers. This is always a great
opportunity to present the Gospel & help new believers.
Prayer
would be appreciated for the preparation & delivery of the messages.
2. Door-to-door
work, 18th to 22nd July
3. Teen
Camp,
25th to 29th July.
MACEDONIA
Olive
Wilson (Bitola)
would appreciate
prayer
as the church have recently been notified that they will have to
leave the shop where they have been meeting for the last 15 years.
It has proven difficult to find somewhere suitable due to high rents
in the market area or proximity to residential flats. Please
pray
that somewhere suitable will be found where their literature can be
displayed and distributed. In the meantime, they will use the
Evangelical Church’s hall for Lord’s Day and will meet in someone’s
home for prayer and Bible study during the week. In addition, please
pray
for the political situation of the country. Protests against the
government have been taking place every evening in
Skopje, Bitola
and other towns for well over a month.
Pray
for a peaceful solution to the crisis and for the Macedonian people
in general.
ROMANIA
Tim and Jenny Gooding (Cluj)
would value
prayer
for the construction of the Children’s Home that they are building
at the rear of their house.
They hope to have up to ten children stay there, from
the age of two years old and upwards. These children will have been
abandoned by their parents at birth and put into a centre for
protection of children. If they are not adopted by the age of two,
homes need to be found for them where they can remain until they are
at least 18 years old. Please
pray
as they select suitable staff to cook and clean and take care of the
children.
Jenny
will be the administrator for the day to day running of the home and
will supervise the cooking and cleaning staff. In addition, please
pray
for the work amongst the poor families in their village (Gilau),
their bible study groups and ministry in the
Cluj
assembly and the local gypsy church.
